Actually, I used this as an excellent neg recently at a little get-together with a few people. You have already arrived an opened and talked to everyone but your target and they have already been introduced. You remember everyone's name EXCEPT hers. As you get up to go get another drink for yourself go "Okay, I think I got it. Your Blah.. Your blah, Your blah.." so on and so forth until you get to your target and go... "Oh umm.. what was your's again?" As long as you can name off the other's names real fast, this works really well. *also* Don't apologize when you can't remember her name.. like don't say "Oh, sorry, what was your name again?" Don't put in the "sorry" you want to lead it to being her fault for not talking to you more. EvoJ |

yea that is a good neg in the way that you don't really care to remember her name off the bat. Im my case I was already in C1 and forgot, but she didn't really seem to care, and it worked out good in the end... danced it up and # closed. |

I would have to agree with EvoJ. Forgetting her name is not a big deal. When you number close, just hand her your phone and tell her to type her number in and generally she will type her name. I am generally really good at remembering names unless I'm drunk which I am usually not when approaching girls so I don't really have this problem. When she introduces herself, ask for her full name, that may make it easier. *also* Don't apologize when you can't remember her name.. like don't say "Oh, sorry, what was your name again?" Don't put in the "sorry" you want to lead it to being her fault for not talking to you more. EvoJ Funny, I just remembered this weekend I was at a friends party and was drinking and talking to these girls (I wasn't trying to approach if I sound like I am contradicting my previous statement) They introduced themselves. Ones name was Dawn, the other Celeste and the other Whitney. So I made a joke and said I probably won't remember your names. Then I said wait your Dawn like the detergent, Celeste like Momma Celeste pizza, and the last I didn't say anything because she was a big girl and in my mind I thought Mount Whitney which probably would have been bad! But they laughed at that. Word association like that helps and makes for a good laugh/neg. |

I am the worst. I can't remember people's names at all usually. It just goes straight out of my head once they start talking... and it's worse when it's a large group of people. Any advice to get over this problem? Also, is there a good way to find out the girl's name without asking her? Sometimes waiting for a friend to say her name takes a while. There's gotta be some better ways. |

I think some good ways to remember a persons name is to use it as some as soon as you find it out. For example. HB: My name is Lisa PA: Lisa, (a routine) -Just use her name when you can, or you could just keep repeating it in your head. As for get her name with out her telling you... i would just wait till she asks for yours as I know you know DUB and then get hers. But in the case that she tells you her name and then you forget it again, if find that what workes for me is to wait for one of her friends to use it, or come up with a routine that involves using her hame... Forgetting the name is not a bad thing... it's a good Neg... "you look more like a Mary than a Kate... its gonna take some time to get use to Mary... see there it is again" Later when they call you and say "hey its me... Kate..." you say... "Who?" and jokingly she'll say "ummm... Mary???" hahahaha... "oh Kate how are you?" However... women love to hear their name said over and over again... so its also good to remember the name... "Kate, where are you from?.... Kate, I'm trying so hard not to kiss you right now... lets go somewhere a little more quiet Kate..." etc etc...[/b] |

Hahaha this thread made me laugh, I forget names every time I meet someone. It always makes for an interesting situation to get out of. I forgot a HB10's name last week but my friend saved my ass. |

I read somewhere that repeating a girls name builds attraction. Turns them on, attraction spike. Am I right? |

Absolutely, it is not just women per say. Humans in general like to hear their own name, just as most people like to hear their own voice. Why do you think that during sex men like to say "Say my name...". |

i always give nicknames, examples of names i use all the time: babycakes, peaches, dollface, sausage, darlin (said as daaaarrlin - hint of italian accent), bumfluff, and occasionally; woman. i dont think many can get away with this but for some reason i can. Don't say babycakes until the 3rd or 4th date cos this shows definite interest. as for dollface, girls can't really seem to work out whether it's an insult (PLASTIC) or a compliment (barbie is fit). Bumfluff is just damned funny. |

I'm terrible with names too. I forgot my boss's name months after I got employed.and it's worse when it's a large group of people. Any advice to get over this problem? Also, is there a good way to find out the girl's name without asking her? Sometimes waiting for a friend to say her name takes a while. There's gotta be some better ways. When facing a lot of new names I try to get every person to say their name in a different situation. Say one when I'm just sitting down, one when I'm getting a drink etc. then I get the name associated with the situation, so by remembering the situation I remember the name. |
