| Post subject: | "Damsel In Distress!" Shit Test |
I was experimenting with the cocky-funny thing on saturday with a friend of a friend when she dropped her phone. I realised my mistake as soon as I bent over to pick it up. I'd broken my frame and spent the rest of the night picking up stuff she'd dropped, bringing her stuff to the bin, etc. What I needed was a cocky-funny response to dodge havin' to do this shit for her, while not appearing to be an asshole, but I couldn't think of anything. I did try throwing in a neg after picking it up("God, are you useless?"-this makes more sense in Ireland), but it bounced off her. I have a feeling this could come up a lot when I'm gaming girls as a shit test, so I need help. Any ideas??? |

There's such a thing as being kind to people you know.... It doesn't kill you to go out of your way to help a friend and pick something up... And what does it mean to "bring something to the bin" |

I don' think people throw their mobile to the ground on purpose... I think you're taking the "not being a gentleman" thing a bit too far there. Having a sense of humor (which is the point of negging) is not the same as coming across as someone just rude. |

C-Dub and North are both right. PLease do explain what a bin is? Here it is something you put garabge in. Guess that makes sense for youre situation |

If she said "could you pick that up for me?" that would have been a shit test. Picking it up on your own without being asked is simply being polite. I would even do that for a stranger. |

Emhem, the problem was after, she kept asking me to throw things away for her (put them in the bin), etc. This is fine, but there's a difference between gentleman and slave. The difference was she wouldn't do these things when there was nothing stopping her doing it herself. I don't mind doing things for her, but there was a line which got crossed. |

Sorry for apparently not reading your whole post. This is fine, but there's a difference between gentleman and slave. The difference was she wouldn't do these things when there was nothing stopping her doing it herself. I don't mind doing things for her, but there was a line which got crossed. Looks like you learned something, at the very least. I'm trying to think of things girls ask guys to do in the first 30 minutes after opening that are NOT shit tests, and I'm drawing a blank. "Hold my purse." "Wait here, I'll be back." "Buy me a drink." "Throw this away for me." "Tell me another story." "Do it again..." "Say something funny." are all shit tests in my book. There's a PUA named lovedrop who wings for Mystery (or used to), and he suggests that it's ok to jump through a hoop as long as you make her jump through one first. Doing so supposedly keeps your frame dominant. |

What's a good response for "Say something funny?" I wasn't too impressed with Jon Stewart's response, which was, "No. No. I'm not going to be your monkey."

I say start charging every time she drops something... and you could kiss close afterwards... "okay lets see... you owe me $30 in drop charges + depreciation on my spine for bending over... I think we could work something else out..." |

Also, if shes asking you to do stuff in whinny type tone, just give her a response like... Heres my CAREFACE... and look as stoic as possible right into her eyes. That has always worked for me as well. -fuzz |
