Not aware of DD's handshake routine but I remember hearing on one of the interview cd's (craig I think??) that he never shakes hands with a girl on introduction. Instead he go's in for the handshake and then switches at the last minute and gives her a high five or holds out a clenched fist and lets them punch it. The argument behind it is that most AFC's will shake hands, whereas by doing the above you automatically flag yourself as different. This instantly sparks a bit of curiousity in her mind, frames you as a confident, fun, guy and sets up a more playful interaction between the two of you. I do this out in the field all the time now when I'm introduced to HB's and it does set the tone nicely. Their usually a bit surprised but laugh, then if they went for the handshake initially you can neg them a little e.g. "haha no I find handshakes waaaay to formal, I mean what is this a business meeting or an interview or something??!" |

If im introduced to a stranger by someone, ill go for the hug, if im approaching, ill go for the sandwichshake or something of the sorts. About this handshakeroutine, it wouldnt be that "Did you know you can tell alot about a person by their handshake? You grasped firmly at first, then loosened up before you let go, that indicates that you aspire to be percieved as powerful and independant, but that once you get past that shield, you actually relax and show your inner kitten", or something along those lines? Okay, i made that one up just as i wrote this, but i heard a routine that went something along those lines.. never tried one tho. Ive tried "you shake like a man!" and "damn those are some intimidatingly big hands". but never this one. |

I learnt the 'Thumb Wars' hand shake from a DD DVD. Basically you just go to give a handshake as usual, then once you've locked hands, convert it into a thumb wars battle and she'll understand what's going on and play along. I've used this a few times - it works quite well as I always win and then use the fact that she sucks to be cocky and funny. Definitely is easy to pull off, sets you out from the crowd and conveys that you're playful in 1 swift move. |

Quote: Hey there is a cool handshake technique I been using, CREDIT to David Deangelo. I posted this as a reply to someone on a field report, thought I should share it to the rest of yall.
Me:(Extend your hand to shake) Her:(Shakes your hand) Me: You know you could tell alot about a person by a handshake. And yours had absolutely no confidence girl. (Do it cocky funny man) Her: What!!!! lol Me:(Extend hand out again, no words) Her:(She shakes it more firmly now) There is that better? Me: Ya it was much better, thats what I'm talking show some confidence I didnt' mean to intimidate you but I'm just this way. (Cocky funny). (Now extend your hands out again, but not saying nothing) Her:lol your silly, why are you sticking your hand out again?(She shakes it again) Me: The third handshake was just to see if you liked me, and you do. Her:shut up lol So much scenario's here and different responses, I've gotten them saying that "I normally never touch a strangers hand, and you should be lucky" These responses are shit tests, and they are trying to raise their value and decrease yours, you got to kick them down here lol. "You should stop shaking peoples hands from now on because your hands are so wet and greasy". Hey this is also another form of kino. You can use this Handshake Technique Anywhere, at anytime. Its best to use this handshake when you RUN OUT OF IDEA'S AND STUFF TO SAY. This falls like a time constraint cuz you pretend to be leaving, but then get back into a conversation about her weak unconfident handshake. |

Tyler Durden talks about a tight handshake routine that he learned from someone in RSD's new Super Conference DVD. It was pretty solid. You basically lead a girl through a bunch of different handshakes, and tell them "This how people shake hands in NY/LA/Chicago/Whatever?" |

I actually used this technique this weekend. I met a good girlfriend of mine at the community pool near my condo. She was with three other girls, and a guy (typical alpha). I shook hands with the AMOG first. The HB was the first girl that my friend introduced me to, thinking that I would want to meet her because she was pretty. The HB (7) reached for my hand with her left hand. It was almost like she thought she was royalty and wanted me to bow my head. Her other hand was completely empty, so there was no reason for her to use her left hand. ME> You know, you can learn a lot about a person from their handshake... HB> Really? (acting as if she was too busy to talk to me) ME> For instance, Dave (the amog) shook my hand very firm, and let go pre-maturely, before our greeting was done. I would assume that he usually projects a confident/strong attitude, but deep down he's a pretty sensitive guy. (looking over at him with a smile) Group> Now, I had everyone's attention ME> But, you have me confused...for some odd reason you extended your left hand, and shook mine very soft. I would venture to say that you probably meet a lot of people (possibly from work) and that 99% of the people you meet never actually become any kind of relationship, but rather a mere single gensture of generosity. Subconsciously, you told me that you don't expect to see me again anytime soon...Possibly because you may think that I would not WANT to see you again...(pause) HB>*sitting, looking almost in shock that I would say this*(by the way, I found out later she was a flight attendant, obviously meets a lot of people) ME> ...or you think your a princess, and I should have kissed your hand. But I'm not that easy!! (Smile) I shook hands with each of the other girls, and sat in front of my "girl" friend and the AMOG. My friend wanted to know about my Sat. night, I told her that I went out with a girl I just met, we drank too much, and I spent the night at her house. The AMOG interrupted with, "YOU GOT HER DRUNK?!?!?!" ME> *with concern on my face, loud enough for all girls to hear* I didn't GET her drunk...we had a great time together and obviously we lost track of our intake. AMOG> *taken back, almost stutters* Well, uh, I didn't mean it... ME> Well, it sounded a little disgusting, the way you said it Anyway, I told my friend bye, I was going to the store and I waived to the other girls on my way out. My friend called me later to tell me that the HB wanted to hang out with me sometime soon. Not really a close of anykind, but deffinetly a planted seed. Plus, I had the opportunity to make a great impression with three other girls, and put the AMOG out of commission while I was there. Sorry so long, just wanted to share with the group. |

Jacked, I'm absolutely loving the FTC idea. Something like "I gotta go, good to meet you." *shake her hand and begin routine... genius. Also, the handshake routine is perfect kino because it's mutually engaged aka. Mutually Engaged Kino (MEK). One thing I'm going to try tonight with this routine is finding a 5 set... waiting until target goes to the washroom then approach set with a female opinion opener. Build comfort and make them like you. Then when the target comes back, pull the handshake opener... throw some negs about her handshake to her friends who already approve of me. That's it, that's all. Thanks Jacked. |
