On my way home today i found myself with four girls and one guy. I was sweating like hell, so i took my big parkas jacket and put it on as closed as i could so it would hide it. I still managed to keep up attention on me, i negged, and told "can you belive it!?" stories, but my main problem was this: The source of these stories are events from my own life, they poped up in my head and it went by by clinging from one thread from another(in a relatively smooth transition) But in these very interresting routines i was more concerned with keeping embarrasing silence away that what i was actually saying. In the process a lot of DLV's are weaved into the stories, details about myself and friends that are our own business comes forward, and afterwards i regret having conveyed so many DLV's. Just thought i'd share this interresting issue, normally it's the "not saying" that is a problem |

I want to stress this point! You are going to have to get comfortable with silence. When you are not comfortable with ackward silence and feel the need to talk you are DLVing yourself. For example, when I was in car sales I learned that during negotiations the biggest mistake new people made was this. They would ask the customer a buying question, the customer would be silent, the salesperson would then feel the need to talk and screw up his frame. So it was quickly learned and taught that "The first one to talk loses." in that situation. When in comfort phase with a target it's a very powerful thing to tell your DHV story and then shut up. The target felt what you felt in the car, and then feels the need to qualify herself to you. So get comfortable with long pauses, smile, and enjoy them! |
