| Post subject: | Voicemail Routine that DHVs...Think it Has LOTS of Potential |
So I've been practicing a lot of new stuff on this HB 8 I've been seeing and so far everything has worked like a charm. Roleplaying, funny TM convos, tons of routines, its all been gravy and we ended up getting intimate pretty quickly. Though I've spent the night at her place twice in two weekends, of course nothing is certain so I'm still researching different things and have come across a few ideas I'm trying to work into my game. Namely prizeability, compliance, and open loops. As you all may know, leaving voicemails is rough. Simply by leaving a voicemail you are compliant to her which lowers your prizeability. How can you maintain being the prize if you are calling her instead of the other way around? Typically, I like to keep my voicemails light and always reference an inside joke from a previous engagement in order to put her back in that state of mind. This has worked pretty well, but I'm toying with something that may be more powerful. My idea works as follows. Call her up sounding pretty enthusiastic and say something along the lines of, "Hey! Holy shit the funniest thing just happened to me that I know you especially would get a kick out of, I can't really talk about....[make your voice sound distant]...what's that?...Haha...[back to the phone]...I'm out with some friends right now but call me back. You've GOT to hear this." Are you out with your friend? No. Do you have a funny story? No (but you'll make something quick up then change the topic). The point is, if I got a voicemail like this I'd be calling that person back pretty soon. Here's the breakdown for why this is: 1) You are out with friends and having a great time - This is a great DHV. 2) You have a mysterious story that she, in particular, will totally get a kick out of. 3) You have left a lot of tension with this open loop that she's going to want to resolve (you never got to the story before the fun interrupted you and you had to go). So when she calls back, all the sudden the tables have turned. SHE'S compliant to YOU. She wants something from you. Now, the question arises of this type of message being devious? In my opinion, yes and no. Yes in that its a little white lie that isn't true, but no in that it has the potential for making her feel really special that you have a story just for her. When it comes to lies, girls deceive all the time anyways and think nothing of it. Anyone who has dealt with flaking knows what I'm talking about. I'll be using this routine pretty soon, if it works I'll let you know. If anybody tries this, let me know how it goes. I really think it has potential. -Esperanto |

Nice write up, Esperanto. When I leave a voicemail, usually I'll just leave something quick like, "hey, it's Exclamation - call me back." Every once in a while I'll use your tactic, though. I read about it in Lieberman's book - "Get Anyone To Do Anything," he has a chapter called 'Get Anyone To Return Your Phone Call Immediately.' In it, he states that you must leave a message that strikes up curiosity and appreciation but isn't clear about it, therefore making them reach to find out what you're going on about. Your example is great, to say you just thought of something they'd get a kick out of, and then leave them hanging. Thanks! |
