I need a reponse to this negative, I was thinking of "Don't try too hard" and patting him on the back but does anyone have a better response? |

It depends what you said to start. You need to be able to recognize if you actually stepped over a line or not, that will decide if she agrees with him or with you. I would just say "Look at you, looking out for your friend. You're a good guy, I like that. Hey let's grab a drink." Hopefully in the maneuver I could grab the girl's arm, pull her along with us and have my arm around her. Body language is more important than what you say. |
