Ok, you may have seen a post by me about an 18 yr old I've been talking to from work. I'm 26. I've known her dad for about 2 years we always give each other shit and joke around. I've been out with this girl once but, she now tells me that she doesn't want to hide the fact that we're dating and wants me to "ask" her dad for permission! The guy already told me at one point if I waved my weewee at her he was going to cut it off lol So, I need a bit of a psychology lesson here, I think the best route is to make it sound like less of a big deal that i'm 8 years her senior but i'm not really sure and i'm kind of scared to death haha Please help! |

LOL. Okay this is funny. And quite typically Bollywood-like where the father of the girlfriend hates the boyfriend. In your place I would do the right things.. Talk respectfully, jot down a few reasons why age is just a number and maturity level is what counts, and other possible answers to her dad's possible questions. I would make it a point to in a way forget the differences, answer him warmly and come off as a genuine, warm person. And, I would give Mr.Daddy some time to reassess. |

This question needs a bump! Update: Have a date with this girl on Thursday and she wants me to "ask" her dad If I can take her out before then. Been bullshitting with this guy everytime he comes to my work which is like every day. Yesterday he pointed out a girl's ass and was like "damn she's got a nice ass" I wasn't sure exactly how to handle this one so I just kind of said yeah and changed the subject. I have been joking with him (he thinks it's a joke) about me and his daughter, I told him "Dad, when are we having our thanksgiving dinner?" He told me I would have to ask his wife because he would be hunting If he could find some land to hunt on. I told him I knew some people with land and I could probably get him on so I took down his number. So, i'm thinking I should probably get the land locked down then right after I tell him the plan so he's in a good mood already then I pop the question. But, what do I say? "sir, can I take your daughter out to eat Thursday?" lol, How do I get myself into these messes? I seriously need help with this it's make or break. |

Yeah, its a great one already, there's no easier way of putting it for you. Except maybe "I want to ask your daughter out, you think she would like me and would you be ok with that?". Because then he feels like he has the power to refuse it and feels like it's not already started, while still seeing you are ballsy. All I can say is good luck man! haha keep us posted. |
