Post subject:  Is She Flaking On Me? If So, What Should I Do?

I met this girl this week. We kept randomly running into each other and she not only introduced herself to me but she also gave me her number. We went to a party over the weekend and it was fun. Throughout the night, she gave me 2 hugs and I danced with her a little bit. I also walked her home and for 20 minutes we had amazing conversation, no awkward silences whatsoever. We talked about our favorite foods, our passions and what careers we want in the future. She said she wanted to see me again when we got to our hall (she lives four floors below me) and I agreed but from what I hear in the PUA community, a girl can easily say that but then she may never mean it.

The party was two days ago. I asked to join me for dinner at the dining hall yesterday and she said "I just went im sorry!". She used to take 20 minutes to a few hours to respond to one of my texts but this one came almost immediately after I sent it. She could have had no time to lie if it came that quickly. I replied "That's alright, we can meet up later tonight." but that night I got busy so I was unable to. I then tried talking to her on Facebook chat and she was responding to my messages and then stopped randomly at one point. I think she just stepped away from the computer. I'm sure she was not ignoring me. She went idle a little bit after that which is evidence for my reasoning. Then, I texted her asking her to join me for lunch today but she never even responded to that text message. I'm guessing she was either busy or didn't see the message. I don't whether it is a sign that she is flaking on me.

Do you guys think this girl is flaking on me or am I just being paranoid? My plan of action for now is to stop trying to contact her for 2 days and then call her and see if we wanna meet up somewhere. Based on my short experiences, she responds quicker and better to me leaving a voicemail but she always texts, never calls which is ok. Who knows, I might even randomly run into her again. We kept doing that up until Sunday. Maybe I can invite her over to play Kinect for Xbox 360 when that comes out on Thursday. She said she loves video games (we talked about this for a little while) but never heard of Kinect so it would definitely be cool. Do you guys have any battle strategies for me that might be useful to get her to see me again? Should I keep contacting her or wait a few days? I think the later is the better choice. She has so many guy friends that I probably have to do a lot of the initiating and planning before she does any. I only have her phone number, room number, and Facebook. In what ways are these useful? I would feel like a creep if I just randomly knocked on her door. I am looking more for a friendship with her but if I can take it the extra mile, I totally would. Thanks for help in advance!

Update: I ran into her today and she told me to text her later. I'm gonna do that instead of this 2 day hiatus. Obviously if she said to text her later, I'm not gonna continue this. I just hope she responds. I'm sure she will. Whatever happens, I don't lose anything and this is obviously a learning experience (great frame from RJ)

I would definitely advise that you CALL her to set up your D2 instead of texting. I had the same sticking point before. It's far easier to turn someone down in a text than it is over the phone, since you're not giving them as much time to think before their reaction, and it's more personal.

So give her a call tonight. From what you described before, it sounds like you're in the door. Once you get the D2, keep escalating, and let us know how it goes!
