Should I text on the day to confirm a date? If so, what would be good?

The conversation before went:

Me - meet me at 'x' bar this friday, and i'll let you beat me at foosball

Her - Har har, ok i'll try!!!

Me - Ok, i'm undefeated since 2002. See you outside at 930

Her - HA! I'm sure i'll beat u

I left it at this.

Hm, a bit difficult in this case, you already kind of closed of the conversation. You could choose to re-open the conversation, or just trust she will come. Re-opening is a bit tricky because it can come of as kind of needy if you know what I mean.

What I would do is text her and say: I can only be there 22.00 hours, still got some work/activity/something (DHV!) to do, is that alright with you?.

Just do the usual:

(Text at the start of the day of the date) "Hey I'm gonna be 5 minutes late, I gotta do this thing (or any other excuse), is that cool with you?"

This works as a reminder and tells if she is coming, like if she says "ok that's cool" she is coming for sure if no, then she flaked.

Adding to that, if for some reason YOU KNOW SHE WON'T COME, and this girl is related to your social circle and you know you will see her around in the future and may interact, or something like that and you don't want it to be awkward later, basically flake on her first: "Hey I'm really sorry but I won't be able to hang out with you today I'm getting caught up with work" And don't try to arrange another time.

This can give you two things:

1. She basically won't care but at the same time won't make things awkward in the future.

2. It may actually make her switch her mind and she will get attracted "this guy flaked on me!!??? I'm the one who always flakes, WTF!"

I say regardless whether she is going to be there or not you should flake on her lol... she doesnt sound that eager to meet you yet and she will most likely flake you anyway :) so give her something to think about :)

Dont ask her if its ok with her that you're late! who cares what she thinks! if she doesnt like it then bad luck its her loss lol.. be the man in the relationship!

Dude!... the "are you cool with that" part is specifically designed so she answers the text and let's you know if she is coming, like I said if she says "it's cool" then she is coming.

OTHERWISE if you just text "I will be 5 mins late", she reads that and she will be like "ok" in her mind and a 90% chance of not replying and you won't know if she is coming or not WHICH IS THE INITIAL GOAL.

Don't get too caught up on "be the man" BS, if you are man you are man, end of story.

haha i disagree... if she reads it and she ISNT going to come she'll send you a reply of "im sorry but i cant make it" why do you need to ask for her permission?? but whatever mate do whatever you think is right
