I say this is an unusual issue only because I'm sure most are out of the situation already, but, I'm at Uni and I share a dorm room with my roommate. He is always willing to disappear when I need him to, but it is a usual question for the girl to ask "what if your roommate comes back?" or "How do you know your roommate isn't going to walk in?". Of course I have already ensured he won't but I generally avoid saying this outright so that I don't put up any anti-slut defenses. So how should I handle this? ~GQute |

haha no, its not an issue of keeping my roommate out, its how do you tell the girl you're with that there is no chance of you getting caught without saying "I called ahead and made sure we wont be bothered". |

haha well were getting closer but usually its late at night after we've been out and the girl is over with the intention of staying the night. My roommate will go crash on someones couch for the night, but I'm left trying to find a way to assure the girl that we wont be bothered the entire night |

Why not tell her about the rubber band around the doorknob thing and just tell her that both you and your mate had an agreement of what to do when you have a girl over? I lived by myself throughout college so this was not an issue for me. |

I don't think the point is for the girl to find out his true intentions. Otherwise, she'll put up her defence mechanism and there's gonna be hell of a lot of LMR going on. I lived by myself throughout college so this was not an issue for me. Look, just tell the girl your friend is staying at another friends house or something .... UNTIL you get to know her and can tell her the truth about it every time. |
