I'm your man, I live in Nashville TN and grew up in the south. I know what you are talking about. Here in Tennesee and most of the other southern women I have met really don't respond well to negs. In most cases they are not needed at all. If you've already used a few on her then it's time to stop.
The rest is pretty much the same but the main thing is you don't have to neg her as much. You still have to do other things to build attraction but teasing is going to be your best play here. Some light and PLAYFUL teasing is going to be best. Don't think Cocky Funny - more just like brother/sister playful banter teasing type stuff.
That should give you some good direction on how to play that. There are some subtle differences depending on what area of the country you are in. When I'm here I use no negs, and some light banter. In Florida a few more negs, and harder banter, etc. It varies, I guess it's the "sweet" southern culture.
