Went out last night to a dance club/bar. Was an OK night, but kind of slow. I was standing next to the bar with a girl on my side (just a friend) and this girl approachs me who looks familiar and says "HEY!!" like I know her already. I respond, "Hey..." and she goes "You're in my 8:00 AM class right?" (this is college). I respond with a "Yaa!" and we talk for a little bit, maybe 5 minutes. I then leave, but the whole convo she was really interested and sending a lot of IoIs (especially talking so close to me that her nose and mouth kept brushing up against my face). I had to leave, but saw her again and said "Hey, I gotta go but I really want to see you later, so let me get your number." She agreed and put it in. How should I go from here? I want to get together with this girl, but Day2s have always been my sticking point, I can never set them up. I don't want to come off as desperate and text her today with "Hey this is Adam from class blah blah blah," but I do want her to come out tonight/see what her plans are. Where should I go from here to get a day2? |

Keep it simple. You have some situational comfort/rapport with her from class and the few minutes you spent talking to her. You can get a date from this without a doubt. but you can't make it an awkward meeting location. If you invite her out for coffee or dinner she is thinking of forced conversation, and awkward silences. Invite her out to do something! Like: Go Karts, Mini Golf, Bowling, Shooting Pool, Laser Tag, etc. (Not Movies) This way you have something to do while you talk and it's not as weird. Make it a simple message to her: "I'm heading out to one of my old stomping grounds.... OR I"m heading to one of my favorite hangs... at the Go Kart Track. Do you want to tag along?" This way if she says no you don't loose any face and you can always say you'll have fun anyways. If she agrees then great! GOOD LUCK! |

Haha that sounds fun, but I don't know if go-karting is the right approach to this one. She seems a little more sophisticated than that. Would something like "Hey I'm going to the mall tommorow to get a jacket, you should tag along." work? Or even wait until class this Tuesday to talk to her, build a little more comfort, and then ask from there? |

Either way would be a good approach. Or even wait until class this Tuesday to talk to her, build a little more comfort, and then ask from there? |

i find in my classes ill take a little more time than i usually would, because: 1) theyll always be there until the terms over 2) if u go to fast and come off as the creepy guy in her morning class ur pretty much screwed The malls a good idea too, make sure u actually need to buy something though |

Ya, I see what you mean. I've decided on taking this route: (keep in mind, she's a senior, there's about a month left of school, and she just broke up with her 4 year boyfriend because he isn't around anymore) I have the class with her Tues. and Thurs. so I'll talk to her after class on Tues., make a little conversation and get her more comfortable with me. Then Thurs (since it's the big night for everyone to go out and the night I met her last week) I'll ask her what she's doing tonight and see if she'll come out to meet me/pregame, etc. |

***Update*** So I didn't get the chance to talk to her at our Tuesday class, and she skipped on Thursday. So I texted her around 12:00 with this. Adam: I can't believe you skipped mgt this morning! HB: Haha I know! I had a test later so I gave myself a break. Adam: Haha that's a good excuse how did it go? HB: Ok I think, so happy it's thursday Adam: Same, going out tonight? HB: Ya definitely. See you later. So that was the first time I texted her and it went well, she wanted to see me out tonight. But the night comes along and I didn't see her once. I texted her with the name of the place I was at with a ? behind it, but no response. So where should I go from here? Text her to hang out this weekend possibly? Or just see her at class Tues? |

Well everything was great until the end....prob is you were too vague about when and where to meet at.....Your chances of meeting up would've been better if you had ended it like this: Adam: I can't believe you skipped mgt this morning! HB: Haha I know! I had a test later so I gave myself a break. Adam: Haha that's a good excuse how did it go? HB: Ok I think, so happy it's thursday Adam: Same, going out tonight? If so, you should meet my friends and I at blah-blah bar at blah blah time.... HB: Ya definitely. See you later. You never know, you may have missed her....as she may have been anywhere....Also, its something more concrete she has committed to.... |

I understand what your saying, but I should have explained more the area we go out to. I'm in college, so the place we go is several bars right next to each other, but there is one that everyone goes to now exclusively, and that's where I met her last weekend, so I knew she was going there, just a matter of finding her in the croud which I failed to do. Any advice on where to go from here? |
