there is not a single answer to your question... each of us has its own style.
what I do and which works for me is one of the following things once I have the IOIs:
a. increase the tension by looking at her right eye, then the left eye, then her lips and then bend over and kiss her. It sounds a bit cheesy, but I saw it in the eyes of the target, she noticed it and she got excited just as I did that... but make sure you do watch her eyes and lips 1. slowly as the goal is to increase the tension, 2. at a time she notices you do it.
b. I like to play the thumbwar and if she wins she has the right to kiss me for one second, with no tongue (obviously). If you win, you get the right to kiss her, same rules. It usually works... if she says:"yeah but it is the same!", you answer "no, not at all" and repeat the rules, insisting that in one case YOU kiss HER, in the other case, SHE kisses YOU, which is completely different, and you smile.
Then you can play again with the 3s kiss, then with the tongue... etc...
and then you help yourself During the first kiss, it is very important (it is what I learnt from my experience) to just put your lips on hers... and if the target is a hottie who tries to use her tongue, just step back and repeat "no tongue!"
