Hey all, new to forum, new to community.

The dilemma: Shy girl, HB7, hard #close at my job where she was a customer, had her giggling and blushing all over the place. 2 days later, open to her via text, texts all day, last few texts had her replying instantly. She's 18, I'm 29, she remarks about how it's a lot, I tried to get her to qualify with:

JC: "I'm not normally interested in younger women, but you seem more mature."
HB7: "Haha thank you" (there was a haha or lol in every msg)
JC: "Are you sure it's not just an act?"
HB7: "It's not"

Then work picks up and don't reply for the rest of the night. Open the next day with:
JC: "hmmm we'll see about that... undecided [her college major] that's not very mature haha"

I think she took me not replying as a IOD, but I'm stuck with what to do now. Did I already lose? Just delete her from my phone and move on? I'm a big time noob to this whole thing so I still have a long way to go, but any insight would be great appreciated. Thanks all

Good job, seems like she really liked you when you met her at your job. Best practice is to have her text you first so she is investing more from the beginning and to text less than she is. You are investing a lot more than she is based on the length of your texts. Also try to set up a date or activity when you number close so you can move things along faster.

I agree with WillEdward and I'd add that you want to transition this from text to a date as soon as you can...

Don't text her for days on end and then suggest a meeting... Strike while the iron is hot.

Because you're new - here's how you'll want to ask (don't say "do you want to go out with me"):

"So, you seem cool. I'm reasonably certain you're not a serial killer or a nut. Why don't we grab a drink/coffee/whatever you want to suggest this week. What's your schedule look like"

Good luck!

Ahhh it seems my age was a breaking point, I texted her later and she was open, I needed to keep gaming her before asking her out, but I went ahead and did it and she declined based on my age. And then I really blew it. Oh well, game lost, lesson learned.

Any ideas for deflections when a girl asks me how old I am? I'm 29, but look and age much much younger so I like younger women.
