Hey friends, help me improve my text game. Great at meeting girls, both day and nigh, and creating attraction- still working on closing- but also need to work on my text game in setting up Day 2's. First girl, same age, was quickly introduced to her at bar as I was leaving, flirted, Kino, talked about places to check out in area (recently moved to Denver) and her love of hockey. Had her put her number into my phone (she put in Sarah"Bar recommendations girl from xxx bar":. Texted her last night: Me: Hey Sarah "Bar recommendations girl from xxx bar: This is Fulton. It was great meeting you last night Her: Wow I have quite the mouthful of a last night. it was nice meeting you last night as well Me: Hey, you chose the name, not me. I think it rolls right off the tongue. Me: It's better than Sarah "girl who likes to start hockey arguments with strangers at the bar" He: Haha hey but it makes me recognizable. I like to think my arguing days are behind me. now its just about the game. And trying not to start bar fights. Just kidding, never done that! Me: I have my doubts... I'll admit it did make you much more memorable Her: That's me! Steering first conversation to hockey is very Sarah. Your turn. I need a memorable piece of info about you. Currently your name is flip flopping between Fulton from xxx bar and Fulton from NY Me: You're right those do come off bland. You can put me down as Fulton the incredible dancer. I'll have to prove it to you in time Her: Incredible, eh? what kind of dancing Me: Anything, really. Except crumping, maybe. I'll let you be the judge if incredible is fitting. No response from there. Any comments/ reaction to my text game? Thought I could of done better after her asking what to put my name in as.. Could've steered that into a date. Your thoughts? Second girl, late 20s (I'm 22). Disco danced with her for about 45 minutes, showed some of my old talent show moves and learned she was figure skater- but only left with a number. Weak play not isolating and getting k-close or bringing home- lesson learned there. Me: Hey Megan, Ice Queen from Texas. This is Fulton from last night. Great tearing up the dance floor with you, would love to do it again soon. Her: Haha, Hi! Nice leading out there, pretty good moves... up for a repeat anytime! Me: Can't lead without a good partner, too! Maybe you'll be lucky enough to see more of the talent show too Her: Can't wait, that the beginning of a great number. I've got some long lost ice show numbers that could come alive at any moment, watch out Me: oh Don't you dare tease me with a good time. I'd say you owe me one too after I dug into my archives. Her: Haha! Deal Me: I'm going up to Vail until after Thanksgiving but let's get together after holiday Me: Gives you a little time to perfect those old ice routines, too! No response from there. What do you think? Would love to hear any of your thoughts |

Decent banter. I thought you were maybe a little long-winded, but they were playing along. I like the 'creative-last-name' move... It makes for an easy opener when you eventually do text. Girl #1 seemed witty enough, but that last line just kind of hung there. You should have tacked a question onto the end of it, or gone right for the 'let's grab a drink'... Girl #2 may not be as into you. She literally gave you no response to a date request (albeit a pretty loose one). |

Agree with the "last name" thing- not my move, but totally stealing it in the future.I like the 'creative-last-name' move... It makes for an easy opener when you eventually do text. Also agree that girl 1 is the better chance- especially considering how much time i spent with girl 2 and it going nowhere by end of night. May hit up girl 2 next weekend, low expectations Any rec's on how to follow up with girl 1? Goign out of town Wed-Sat, may text her tomorrow morning, "Hey, evening just opened wide up. How about a drink tonight? just promise you won't fight me" |

New update on girl 1. A surprising one, in my opinion This afternoon: Her: Haha except for crumping got it. So you could break out into tap or salsa and you'd be incredible is what you're saying Me: Well, I need to leave some mystery to surprise you with, don't I? Me: My night is free tomorrow, would you like to meet up for a drink Her: Fulton, I liked meeting you and I appreciate the invite, but I'm not interested pursuing anything farther at the moment Me:Cool, I'll just call you everyday from now on to make sure you feel the same way. Just kidding, appreciate for the honesty Didn't see that coming, but c'est la vie. Thought I built enough in the ten minutes I met her to move forward, maybe was to quick to pull the date trigger. Or never had a chance in the first place. What's there to learn from this one? |

At least she was straight with you so that you didn't waste the next few weeks thinking about it and trying to figure out how to get her out with you. Gotta respect that. |

I agree with Charles' assessment that the banter seemed maybe a bit long-winded. If this style normally works for you keep with it otherwise you might consider shortening it, being less available to engage in the banter over text, saving that for in person, instead dropping in quickly over text and proposing a meet up. If they're interested they'll take you up on it. IMO nothing wrong with the content of your text convos overall though. Quote: maybe was to quick to pull the date trigger. Definitely not.
