Post subject:  I need help with a number close
I just asked for this girls number on POF and this is how it went.

Her: Hahahahah hahahaha ok ok it says e4 on my neck!!! Haha oj ah I've five so yeah let's just say I'll be well covers up with clothes when I'm wrinkled :p have ya for snap chat :)

Me: If you're actually laughing that hard you might just burst a lung :L So you're a member of the slackers club then....you're so lazy haha Good call cause when you're old a gorgeous sun tattoo on your lower back turns into an octopus chasing a starfish :L I don't have it but sure gimme your number and I'll text you later :)

Long delay

Me: Aww, you've never given a guy your number before have you? :L It's gonna be fine, I'll only text you 7 or 8 times a day hahaha

Her: I'm so slow at writing back haha See I'm using my phone and chargers broke so have to use my iPod speakers an it's taking forever waiting for It :L and haha ur in the north sure thayll cost Loadsa credit??

Me: Nahhh, you're just slow at replying to every second message, its actually kinda funny. Somebody needs to whip you into shape :L Here's me thinking most people know their number off hand haha What are you talkin' about? I live in Monaghan :')

Her: It says u live in Belfast why are u misleading me omgggggg haha .. Ah it's so annoying it's on 8% here again grrrrrr!!! Haha whipped into shape ah god ur good craic!! Pity there wasn't a bita Craic on tv!!!!

(craic is fun for any of you non Irish peeps out there)

Me: It also says Monaghan right beside it. I live here but I spend a lot of my time in Belfast cause I study there, make sense? :L Well when its done charging gimme your digits if you're brave enough ;) I know, I am the craic dealer after all. Who needs the tv when you've got some awesome company like me?

So I'm starting to think she's just using the charger an excuse and she won't give me her number despite the fact she seems receptive enough. Does anyone have any idea what I should do to get it if she doesn't without sounding too pushy or eager? Any help is appreciated.

She is beating around the bush about the phone number. There are a lot of time wasters on POF, do yourself a favor and select the following options:

1) I guess she needs more comfort, so you will just have to keep talking if she is worth your time, typically will take hours and hours of sweet talking. But even then she probably won't meet up if she takes that long.

2) Put the ball in her court, for example:
"Well, I'm going offline, when you fix your 'charger', send me a text if you want to continue our craic ;) (insert your phone number) (DO NOT MESSAGE HER TILL SHE TEXTS YOU)

3) Challenge her, for example:
" bah, I had a feeling you're one of those POF shy girls, never mind, good luck with your search :)" (its important to mean what you say here, do not contact her till she gives in)

4) Ignore her, for example
*leave the message blank"


If it was me, I'd choose option 2. I don't waste my time. I get to the point, POF isn't PenPal.com. Its for dating

I know what you mean, I liked option 2 the best as well. I think I'm just gonna ask her out when I feel enough comfort has been built. Do you think it might be too soon after two days? I don't wanna hesitate too much. I read somewhere that texting should only be used a bridge to set up dates not to game cause that should be done in person.

I usually ask her for a drink when she qualifies herself to me (on a high note), which could be on the 5/6th message.

I tell her "lets get a drink sometime in the week ,you up for it?"

then if she agrees , i will say " ok , shoot me your number"

send a few flirty text messages then when she is responding fast i will ask her which day she is free for a drink and then follow it up till the meet.

Sounds like a solid plan! I have one question about qualifying though. I literally just asked her what else she has to offer and she said and I quote " I have nothing I can touch my nose with my tongue :-) wbu?!" Now I shouldn't qualify myself her should I? I'm not sure how to turn this around on her or raise my value here.

I just went with "Well I can make you believe my job is an exotic dancer for one" (just a joke) I didn't like the idea of telling her what I have to offer, seems a bit needy. I think I'll ask her out and then use than as an opportunity to get her number if she agrees.

Yes, I was referring to a jokey response I gave her when she asked what my job was. Sorry man, I'm not sure what your point is here so you're gonna have to explain cause I'm confused :')
