Post subject:  Texting before 1st date
Pretty girl, met her on an internet dating site and we connected well and were calling back & forth, and set up a date. Randomly met her in person at a party recently and she definitely is hot and has a little bit of game herself. Puts me through a lot of shit-tests and is pretty confident - which makes me go into automatic AFC mode of trying to please too much, etc... I was able to fight my way out of it at the party, though...

So we're going on our first date tonight... Any suggestions for my texting welcome - trying to get better at this...


Her: *** Restaurant. Address ***, See you at 5:30!
Me (2 hrs later - was at work): Sounds good, see you then. by the way, dress sexy ;)
Her (immediate reply): Ummmmm... not sure how to respond to that...? I'll be in my work clothes...
Me: Meh..good enough
Her( immediate replies now): ummmmm... really? Sure do know how to make a girl feel comfortable, huh?
Me: Lol - you'll look sexy even in work clothes..possibly sexier
Her: Its only our first date, so cool your jets
Me: ;P

I didn't know anything smart, funny, cool, etc.. to say so I just ended it with a ";P"

I did a similar thing once.
But I just told the chick "you look hot with that red dress in your photo"
And she was like "Is that a hint? Will a nerdy shirt work just as well?"
Me: "Maybe a slight hint. But the nerdy shirt will do just fine ;)"

needless to say she showed up in the red dress.. an hour later we were making out :wink:

"Meh..good enough" Sounds like you have no standards, like you're settling. I'd use "Sure you will"
"Lol - you'll look sexy even in work clothes..possibly sexier" I wouldn't compliment her too soon. I might say "You can come in your bathrobe if it feels comfy"
";P" Not sure but not sending message at all looks fine.

As well all of this depends on your interaction the previous night, but this is what I'd do.
Not an expert though.

Cool the sexuality in your texts. She's already agreed to the date no need to keep pushing things. A good way to make the initial meet at the date less awkward is to send her something along the lines of" look for me standing next to the giant ice sculpture I carved in your honor! Hurry its melting! ; )"and when she shows up you could say "aww you're 15 seconds too late it melted! It was magnificent though. " This gives you something to joke about making it significantly less awkward.
