ok so ive been going to a lot of frat partys lately and i'm starting to see some of the same people. the only problem is i'm terrible with names and i feel bad. i even had a girl come up to me the other day and was like HEY (my name) and then i felt bad that i didnt know her name haha. anyway. do you guys have any good strategies for me to remember names better? also, if i see a lot of the same girls and even guys, should i use the same material or try to focus on different material. i'm afraid that i will start saying stuff that they have already heard from me before. |

I have that problem too lol, but you know what you could use it as a neg, just say to the girl, "im sorry i totally forgot your name" idk if that helps, but you know, its not a half bad idea. |

same problem with me bro, im good with faces and bad with names! here is couple tricks i use! ask ur friend (that doesnt know her) to come up to you when u gonna talk with that girl next time... and be like hey meet my friend. he will say: -John she will say -(her name) Sarah or we... another one... when u talk with her say that u gotta run cuz something cameup, but you would really like to continue this and just give her your celle pone.. she will put her number and name! and last one.... next time u see her be like.... hey whats ur name.. she will tell you her name and you say: -no you dummy, i know your name, i ment last name, cuz you look exactly like one of the girls from my (whatever)class, i was tinking that you are twin sisters or something... she will tell you her last name and u like oh no, her name is Jonhson (or we)... got it?! hope i helped |

naaah it woulnt be a neg ... she would think of you as any other guy-asshole who cant remember a girls name!there is a thin line between neging and being ahole... that is totally AHOLE line |

That's not an asshole line. People always forget people's names, even a lot of people that make impressions tend to have their names forgotten with all the other things going on and how short a time you spend on it. So if you want to remember it, what you can do is while you are talking to her think her name whenever you say something to her, or you could just be honest and tell her that you forgot her name and say something about how you meet so many people (social proof) or you're better with faces or something and put a positive spin on it. I usually say something joking about why I can't remember names and get them to laugh with me. |

mihall had some good ideas there... I used to be real bad at names too,but as of recently I've goten much better... Just try using a mnemonic for names, similar to the peg system... When you get their names just shake their hand or whatever, repeat their name back and anchor it to something in your mind... Only problem I've had is now I got too many names in my head LOL |
