Hey guys, my first post!
Basically, I have a bit of a unique situation. To start, I’m in a wheelchair; this is obviously a bit of a knock on the self image. I also have interests in life that never seem to be of interest to pretty much everyone I meet, or currently know (things like: Wall Street, Art, studying culture/religion, psychology, and other things everyone I know finds boring). The reason I mention the conflict of interests is because I also consider myself somewhat of an interpersonal person. If you happen to know anything about interpersonal people, you would know small talk is a weakness, and we are better at talking about ideas/theories and such.
Even though I’m in a wheelchair I tend to get a lot of what many of you might consider good signs from girls. For example, if I go to the mall with a group of friends, a fairly good number of girls will: smile at me, say hi to me, or even a smile and a tiny wave combo lol. I can make lots of eye contact. However, I’m a fairly blunt realistic person, and view these things as nothing more than just pity or a females need to kind to me for some reason, or giving me eye contact because they are just staring at me, lol.
The hard part goes back to my personality type; I personally believe that it might make me THINK I’m shy, because if a cute girl says “hi” to me, I just say “hi” back. I can talk to girls pretty good if I have something to talk about, and can be somewhat cocky and funny if it’s not all small talk.
One last thing, girls also tend to be into me in party situations. I don’t drink, and tend to be the only calm demeanor person there. I’m not really into sloppy drunk girls, even if they give me their number (I never ask).
So, I hope my post isn’t too unorganized to understand what I’m trying to ask. Basically, how do I: differentiate between my personality and anxiety? Try finding out if the girls who give me the attention I mentioned are a possible pick-up?
I’m open to all kinds of ideas/opinions/questions.
