I tried this last month, I think it only couldn't lead further because my AFC mate who was there with me cock blocked me at the instant. Jealous prick. (After finishing a drink) PUA: "Hey, I need to ask you something." HG Looks surprised and waits for the question. PUA: "What''s wrong with this picture?" HG: "So... the glasses are empty..." (She obviously understands the intent is to get more drinks, but wants to make sure she doesn't get them needlessly) PUA: "And...?" HG: "You want me to get you guys more?" PUA (smiling in a patronizing way): "Clever girl!" At the time I asked what's wrong with this picture, my AFC "friend" started Pradeeping me, trying to take over my joke and doing his unoriginal best to steal the frame. Anyway, how can one improve on this? |

If your using it on a waitress, hostess, or bartender she will get the message the min. you say, "What's wrong with this pic...." They have heard it thousands of times, and an empty glass is money for them, a.k.a. a tip. My opinion is it needs work, keep at it and make it work. |

They have heard it many times before, and whether they have or not, you didn't neg her, you came off like a condescending prick in her mind. |

What do you suggest then?

From another post I read, "This is a fun way I've been comped by female bartenders. I go to the bar with a friend and chat and laugh and have a good time. If I'm alone, I chat up the guys sitting next to me. I only order a drink when she asks. I play it straight twice. Whereafter my second beer is finished she then asks if I want another. I look at her bewildered and say (playfully) "yes, but why do you keep buying me drinks? I came here to socialize, not for you to sauce me up. . . . Jeez Louise, what are you intentions?" It works well if the bar isn't packed and you DHV with the group around you. Even if there is a group of guys there. Also, ask if the bartender has a signature drink, many do. If she does she may make it for you, but don't ask her to make it. Neg her into it. |

I like that a lot. I'm gonna try that next time I go to a pub or something less crowded. It works well if the bar isn't packed and you DHV with the group around you. Even if there is a group of guys there. North, I personally don't try to pick up hired guns, but that's mostly because I don't consider myself enough of a PUA to try. What I have been doing is building up my confidence with approaching by talking to them, because they HAVE to talk to me. I like using my rainbow tuque as an opinion opener because its about 70/30 against the tuque an in favour of my shaved head, but either way I end up getting a compliment out of it and if they say they like the tuque, then I can reply with "Thanks...if I wasn't gay, then you'd totally be mine" |

I see... I made a very wrong call with just asking for drinks, it's too common indeed. That approach looks much better mate.It works well if the bar isn't packed and you DHV with the group around you. Even if there is a group of guys there. Also, ask if the bartender has a signature drink, many do. If she does she may make it for you, but don't ask her to make it. Neg her into it. Thanks a lot for the advice. |

First time I ever got a free drink. I told the bartender, a 6HB, that I was a toenail polish salesman. She looked at me funny, then I told her I was working my way up to fingers but that my ultimate goal was lip gloss. I told her all of this with my wallet sitting on the bar with my military ID facing up where everone could see it. I never paid for another drink all night. But, I didn't just let the situation go with that....I negged her and flirted. Keep the set moving and working for you. If you stumble, move to a different set. Keep things moving and fresh for you. Your going to stumble a lot, but keep on keep'n on. You'll get better with practice and time. |

Also, Rye, I've been practicing a lot of the "cocky funny" stuff on the field, with a decent success ratio (at least for opening), I like being cocky. I'm trying to figure how the approach translates to other environments/types of targets. That's also why sometimes my negs can almost cross the line to insult. People still get them as a simple joke, but only because the very playful tone I tell them in. |
