Hi there, I work at a shop where lots of women come. Now i'm asking myself: how is the best way to get to a woman in just those 2 min when they encounter you to pay their goods and then leave? What should make them wanna pay personal intrest in you. I'm curious what you guys have to say... Cheerz, MysteriX |

well i also work in retail and lately ive been trying to come up with something to get a girls number at least. i see a lot of very hot girls at my store and their all around me but i cant figure out what to say to them besides ask them if they need help mostly they dont. but if they do then you can take it from there by asking them about what they are buying and why. one thing i like to do at the registers is to greet them and then just say "so no work today?" pretty much open the interaction by assuming something and just being nice. and they will either say yes in which you can then ask them about where they work and take it from there. or if they say no then you can ask if they have school or anything else that might occupy their time and get something you can connect with and then pull a number. |

Hi, I have a few theories on this, since MysteriX mentioned this in chat, I have been thinking about this very problem... So here goes: First by asking them if they need help you are coming across as a annoying shop assistant who bothers you to make sales and is there to spin you a line about how product x is the best thing since sliced bread, hence in most cases you will get the generic answer of no thanks. You need to do something different, to set yourself apart from the type of shop assistant mentioned above, so let’s assume they are near a rack of jeans, pickup a pair and casually say something along the lines of "do you think my bum looks big in this ?" in a playful way, hopefully she will respond playfully, Or if she has picked up a item/is looking through the rack, something like "Do you want a male opinion?" or comment on something she is looking at, has in her hand, like "those vertical stripes would really complement your figure" Just play around with things, be careful (I am sure your manager won’t be happy with you trying to pickup clients rather than sell sell sell!!!!) and be playful, that is really the key here as I see it. I actually got fired from a retail job for picking up women at work so be careful. I never had a customer complain but my boss, who was female, thought it was inappropriate. I think Christmas was just over and she was looking for a reason to let me go. anyhow how i did it. Use a very deep voice, the kind that resonates from your chest. speak s...l...o...w...l...y and look her i the eyes. compliment her on her selection and you should get DDB. when you do, tell her your intrigued by her and ask her if you can take her to have a drink after work. I only got two responses "yes" in which case you hand her you cell phone; and "I have a boyfriend/husband" in which case you say he is a lucky man and if she needs anything else to let you know. occasionally they would come back later and flirt with me...then i'd ask them for a drink...just as friends and it was still on. Instead of prematurely ejecting yourself when she said she had a boyfriend, you could have tried something like:Rockstar 1) "I think you are thinking to forward in our relationship, I was only inviting you out for a drink as friends?" or 2) "Well bring him along it is only a drink between friends" (when you meet up for that drink with her and her boyfriend bring a hot female friend yourself when her boyfriend ogles over your friend it lowers his value with taget and highers your value becuase its social proof for you..) or 3) "I have a girlfriend but I am still allowed to go out for a drink alone with female friends!"...... It is just playful teasing, and should get the interaction back on track... What you need to remember is that the Whole I have a boyfriend thing is also pretty generic, she may not have a boyfriend, (which is probably why some approached you later to flirt with you) and if she is not wearing a wedding ring, then she (almost certainly) doesn’t have a husband! (or she has taken her wedding ring off becuase she wants men to hit on her!.) Jtaz |

I'm pretty new to pickup, (6 months or so) but I have been working retail for a long time. I work in a produce department. Often what I do with a girl is I will pick up an obscure looking piece of produce (which I am obligated to be knowledgable on, as it is my job) and ask her a question about it, e.g. 'do you know what this is?', or 'let me ask you something, would you eat this?', Its really helpful for me actually, its the best I've got for this type of scenario to get things rolling. |
