Hey guys,
I'm pretty new in the world of PUA.
I'm 27 years old from Serbia, i checked out book The Game and I already started to try some openers just yesterday.
I tried the 80s dog opener. I said the usuall: hey girls, a quick question. My friend got a two dogs, one is labrador, other is malteser. Problem is that my friend want to name those dogs from some band from the 80s. Do you have any ideas?
The moment i sayed that it was complete silence. Then they started to whisper, and then one sayed suspiciously: How come your friend didn't came up to some name already? I just sayed that she did, but none of the good ones. Then silence came, then i realise i need to back up.
It was obvious for those girls its picking up, and that I somewhere went wrong. Can it be that some openers are too obvious? What was my mistake? I know that openers shouldn't be too obvious, otherwise it wouldn't be openers. But for some openers it's so much obvious its not just "bumping into", like Jealous Girlfriend opener. Am I right or wrong? Can you indicate me on my mistake, please?

You're thinking way too much. What's the purpose of an opener again?

...

Good! to start a conversation! Congrats, you actually started a conversation.

So next time you could open with:

"Hey!"

or

"How are you guys doing?"

or what about...

Bump asses* "Ooops"

It's all so simple isn't it.

It's true what the guy above me says, but I will take your specific opener in consideration. When approaching a set and opening, the girls will wonder: Why is this guy talking to us? And how long is it gonna take?
They need to be validated with a reason why you're talking to them and also... a false time constraint.

This is of course for beginners and I suggest you play it safely by following those simple procedures until you become experienced enough to the point that it won't matter.

So: Hey guys, I only have a moment but I need your opinion on something real quick (false time constraint): .

And after the opener you gotta give them a reason why you're talking to them: Alright, well the reason I'm asking is because.... .

No openers work if you do it wrong and all work if you do them right.
