| Post subject: | How to respond to this? |
Ok so I sent a message to a HB 8 on facebook I know who's status said she busted her hip while running. Me: " I thought I saw you bust your ass earlier, that's why I run at the track and she responds literally like 10 minutes later saying. Her: "haha where did you see me fall?" She's a smart one lol, how should I follow up with that. I may not even respond until tomorrow since I'm busy. I was thinking ... Me: " I'm pretty sure I saw you at so and so (best guess) if not it must be your twin because she looked just like you..." so it comes off as a common mistake. Any thoughts? |

this is a problem when you use situational openers when you were not in the situation. A good opener could have been as simple as - "OUCH! You do know why they built running tracks - for runners I would reply with something like - "Don't you know I am a busy man! I can't remember my head was full of important stuff that day" not perfect but it does give a disqualifier and a DHV spike |

I'm thinking : Me: "I saw you around this and this street (two main streets around here she was likely on) I was driving so it was hard to tell but she at least she looked a lot like you, perhaps your twin? Her: "that's funny cuz I was on this and this street" (or) "that wasn't me" Me: Possibly...or since I don't know how honest you are..you could be lying Her: (hopefully responds) I'm thinking that's the best way to go with this mess I created so at least It looks like an honest mistake of identity since we do have a lot of ice around here and I see people slip from time to time Either way if I'm lucky it'll break the ice. |

Me: " I thought I saw you bust your ass earlier, that's why I run at the track " Her: haha where did u see me fall me: In my dreams!! I was takin a jog and you fell right into my arms. Her: haha ur so funny or haha ur such a clown me: dats rite baby, I'll be ur superman! How's that's hip? Main goal here is to take her mind off of how u kno she busted her ass and ge her into a good state of mind, chkin her sense of humor, while showin ioi to sort of shit test how she feels about u then bringin it back to topic and prolonging the convo |

Ok here is the conversation so far: Me: "I thought I saw you bust your ass earlier...looks like it hurt. That's why I run at the track : ). (Didn't actually see her). Her: "lol, where did you think you saw me bust my ass?" Me: " Yesterday morning while along such and such street on my way to campus, at least she looked a lot like you" (educated guess since I know of a slippery road that I see lots of chicks run on early in the morning. My original plan was for me to guess wrong and take it from there that she's covering it up ect.) Her: "haha lol yeah that was most likely me in that case..the epitomy of grace." Me: "lol I've had my share of wipe outs many of which pale in comparison. However I don't think I've failed quite that bad while just running either. Anyway..I'm planning on organizing another hike once it gets warmer out and already have a few recruits. Since it's hard to fail at that...I think, your welcome to join (similar to the one I met her on). P.S. "epitomy" is spelled epitome Smile Her: I attribute my fall to the fact that my right foot skidded on some slick gravel (left over from the stuff used to clear the roads of ice). I do not consider it a failure at running, especially since things such as this happen routinely to people running 8+ miles a day. Though I certainly admit that is is unfortunate. I do not only attempt things that are hard to fail at. There is no sense of accomplishment there. P.S. "your" is used incorrectly. The correct usage would be that of the contraction "you're" Smile How do I respond to that? So far so good but she didn't acknowledge my invite, but she surely seems to be trying to qualify herself. Any suggestions? |
