Post subject:  Noise when approaching a 2 or 3+ set at a college party

I'm going to a college party this weekend (I'm in college) and in the past I've had trouble engaging groups or sets that were already engaged in conversation (interrupting) or if it was just too loud.

It's usually very loud and sometimes I'll start my opener without directly facing the group as Mystery suggest (false time constraint) but I'm not heard since the group is so huddled together to even hear each other.

It feels weird to stand there and try again louder and hope your heard and that really causes severe DLV.

I guess if your not heard the first time you move on quickly to another set?

This really amps up my AA is failing to execute because I'm not heard.

Any suggestions for this?

I mean I know to speak louder but sometimes the only way is to shout and that really takes away any game in the conversation if you can't even be heard.

just speak at the tone of everyone else, whatever you do avoid leaning in

You are overanalyzing the situation, just have fun and enjoy the moment. You will naturally attract people as long as you're having a good time.

I like to make eye contact or kino before opening that way I can get their attention and avoiding to have to repeat the things you said or having to say it again but louder. As mentioned above , don't lean in.If the girl wants to hear you she's the one who has to make the effort to lean in.
