So there I was at a party and there aren't too many pretty girls I'd consider being with. I'm mostly eating, talking and not even worried about girls at this point. Finally when a set of two girls come by (one who is very attractive) to pet a nearby dog I get the chance. My friend's got this REALLY ugly mustache and beard that I keep telling him to shave and nearly everyone in our group agrees so I use an opinion opener: Me: Hey we really need a female opinion on something because my friend here will not listen to us. Do you think he would look better with or without the beard? Cute girl: I don't really care about looks... I was flabbergasted, I had NO idea what to say. For the first time in a LONG time I was speechless. It may have been the weed I smoked that slowed my thought process. This also heightened my interest in her the first thought that came into my mind was "Wow, that's rare" and the only things I could think of to say would have been me indicating an interest in her. Sadly...I had an off night. I kept thinking about what just happened and was astounded I didn't think of a clever comeback to regain composure. Anyways, what would you guys have said or done in this situation? |

Well I don't even want to comment on what you should've done.My prob' is,why the hell were you surprised that the HB reacted that way about your friend's mustache?If she's attracted to s.o. in your group(to you),she wouldn't have said,yea,I hate the mustache.You shouldve anticipated that she would say something positive. |

well, i dont see it as such a problem. there are loads for example using a united front : " oh so, more into personality? why don't you come over see my friend here, he has a great personality" " what a nice response! oh come on your telling me nothing like this has ever happened to you?" " (turn to her friend) Do you think you could give me a more helpful response than your friend" |

You're calling her out, you're negging her, and you're showing her that you don't value what she said. Most importantly, she didn't really answer your question. She skirted it. Don't let her get away with that. She's lucky to have YOU talking to HER, and if she doesn't want to play along, then you get talking to her friend. Make her earn your time. I know it's easier said then done. Don't think for a minute that during my off nights I don't get thrown by something that might seem elemental to you. |
