| Post subject: | Gym Opener |
So im a personal trainer at a golds gym (yes i know! girls everywhere!) so i meet alot girls at the gym..my main opener is usually asking them a question about an exercise there doing? this comes off a little direct cuz im a personal trainer and i should already know which most the time i do but its just a way to engage a convo. anyways what other openers do u think would be ideal for a gym setting..and the fact i work there? |

since you work there you could easily say something about how they are doing the workout wrong. show them how they are doing it wrong and thats an instant neg. then easily transition into conversation or slow play it for a while if she is a regular at your gym. |

Being someone who doesn't work in a gym, i'd like to get some ideas on approaching girls when i'm workin out. I think the strategy above me would come off wrong since i'm not an employee |

I don't think telling girls they are doing something wrong is the best way to go. I am a strength coach and I coach about 75 girls and a lot of them say they hate it when guys come up and say that. Also, you have to wait until she is doing something wrong. I think a better idea would be to suggest a variation of whatever exercise she is doing. something along the lines of "if you like that you have to try this" |

Ya i see what you are saying, but at the same time he works there and its his job. Maybe not say they are doing it wrong but show them how they could do it better not in a condescending way though. I think the condescension is what they really don't like. But the variation thing works fine too.
