| Post subject: | College Freshmen Openers |
Hey guys. My college is about to start and all the freshies and upperclassmen are starting to flock back to campus. I am currently a senior and was wondering if there were any good openers for a set of freshmen. I read and understand the basic openers and how to use them, but is there something specifically for college students that can easily break the ice? For example, college freshies usually ask for your name, major, and where you come. Anyway to either avoid these and not fall into the same old conversation or another unique way to answer these? Thanks, DPS |

Just bullshit them. You're name is Captain Fantastic. You're studying flower arranging. And you're from a secret lab, just north of the north pole. Easy, playful and funny. As for openers, freshmen especially are just exited to meet new people. So just a simple "Hi" works well. |

This is a good opener and how to use it: 'is this the cool group over here' then you say 'what majors are you taking' there say whatever major there doing. Then put in a story 'So what do you want to do when you leave. Ill change that what did you want to be when you were younger. and don't say princess.' she'll say pop star or something. this is what I said to a girl in my college after I did all of the above.'I wanted to be an astronaut. you know because of that 90's film Toy Story' there's two possible answers Yes or no. if she says yes- then say it was good wasn't it and talk about that for a little bit. if she says no- then say OMG you had no childhood. then interrupt her when she's talking and say ' I just noticed something about you' she'll be intrigued by it she'll probably say 'you noticed what' say 'ill tell you later' then carry on the story 'yeah , as I was saying I used to love astronauts ,I even made spaceships out cardboard boxes so I could pretend to be one. and then do you know what happened' pause until reply like 'what' or something along those lines' then say ' college stared so I had to pack all my space gear away' (then give a cheeky grin at the end) this is a good routine because, you keep the target amused. |
