Post subject:  The paradoxical HB
Okay, little question here:

I prefer the direct approach after the HB gives me an AI. So basically I just chill and check for IOI's like proximity dancing, hair touching and prolonged EC. Once I know the HB is interested in me I go in.

BUT,

As soon as the HB knows that I'm actually going to approach (walking up to her the last few meters) the girl ALWAYS looks the other way and even tries to "hide" by talking to her friends.

Why do they always do this? First giving of big IOI's and then "hiding" from me when I'm approaching her? It's not really a problem, since I continue approaching anyways, and it goes well. But I'm a academic, and I want to know the psychology behind this behavior. :roll:

Any suggestions?

Isnt this just classical women-game?
They first look at you and when you show any sign of trying to
get contact they look away, in order to control the situation.
And also to be "the observed" as Mystery puts it.
By SPAM looks, she will get more and this will raise her value.
This all are probably subconsiously cause I've seen it so many times aswell.

How to get around it then?
Im no expert at shit-tests, but couldnt this be a way of check your reaction
in order to determine your value?
If you look really pleased with an HB looking at you she'll probably think you're not used to it.
On the other hand..
I've read some books that suggest a women looking down after having eyecontact
is showing that the one she just glanced at is superior to her.
Dont know about looking sideways though.. could be disintrest.

Maybe its time to come up with a really quick cool routine for sudden EC moments.

We do it to them verbaly all the time, I think mystery called it the cat and string method, it's a teaser, give them a little and take it back repetedly.
It is just the womens way of doing that, when she does that it's a good thing, it usually means she is interested.

She could just be shy, she smiled at you but then her shyness kicked in, it's quite adorable

Yeah, I think I figured it out now. Useful reactions.

This behavior is probably a combination of shyness/politeness and a little test to see how the guy reacts. Imagine a HB who just keeps staring at you the whole time while you're walking towards her. Now that's sort of the opposite: dominance/superiority.

This sounds like fun! You do this often yourself? I think it comes across as busting her balls a little. First showing great interest by intending to approach her, then the last few seconds you decide to engage her friends instead.
