Post subject:  Jokes Vs Humour

I think it was David D who said it in the Cocky Comedy DVD series.. "If you wanna be funny, buy a joke book."
To me, there is a difference between jokes and humour.
I've posted this thrtead to see what other guys think about the debate of which works better regarding women, PU, seduction and the game.
Jokes are undoubtedly funny, tell one or two and you'll get a laugh. But humour, IMO is much better because it is more versatile and can be useful in all kinds of situations.
Have you ever watched improv.? Sometimes the jokes are useless and lousy. This is when humour is a downfall and jokes are stronger. Jokes can form routines. Routines can be learned, memorized and practised.
So there you have it. I briefly outlined the beneficial differences between humour and jokes. But still which is most effective?

some guys just throws out a lot of jokes.... while others makes fun of the comments being made in that moment!! and both kind off humor works great!!

I myself mixes them up, and use both...

id rather have humor than tell jokes. cause if you bomb a joke, and lots of comedians do, you look like a total jackass. humor flows, jokes are only good until you get done. maybe id use 1 or 2 jokes per encounter. but i wouldnt bank on them.

I think the real question is in the definition of a joke and humour. I see jokes as a story with a punchline and buildup, whereas humour is something that is natural and smoothly fits into a conversation.

I voted in favor of humour.

"If you tell one joke and people laugh, then THE JOKE is funny. If you tell a string of jokes that make people laugh then YOU are funny...But funny doesnt get you laid...HUMOR gets you laid."

I think jokes are more effective but being funny takes a lot of talent/experience. So despite the fact that I happen to have humour, I think jokes are the safer rought.

Jokes = jokes

Humour = timing, improv, snap fast thinking

Humour is clearly MY personal favourite, since not only does it make jokes easier to learn (since you understand how to deliver them and WHEN to deliver them), but you can fire off funny comments based on HER reactions, making you seem more genuine and less canned.

don't know why but i can laugh from anything and make a good mood anywhere and anytime. i'm in good mood every minute of a day, sometimes i'm a little bit, too-serious but that's seldom and useful. when i'm with one or another friend or a lot of friends humour is just as atomic-bomb. if noone is laughing or everybody are sad or serious i just say something funny, laught a little bit, and after 5minutes almost 90% of them are laughing and saying "do you smoke weed?" no i don't i just know that LAUGH is atomic reaction witch goes from one person to another, if noone starts this. i start

Any joke CAN be funny, but usually what make a joke funny is not it's content, but HOW it is said. Another thing David D. says is that Voice tone and Body Language are 95% of your communication.

As a side note, Mystery stresses that you run with it when you're making people laugh (Just not too much, quit while you're ahead and don't kill your jokes. don't be goofy). Tell a joke and they say "That joke is funny", tell a bunch of jokes they like and then "He's funny"!

Some things to remember with humor...

1. Never take a joke past it's 3rd leg. This includes when someone else has said the second. Only true comedians can do it, and they almost never take a joke past 4 legs!

2. Make sure what you're saying is actually funny. If you know you're not going to get a laugh, it's usually best not to say anything at all.

3. Try out material all day on all kinds of people. I make people laugh all day, every day (since I was, like 8) and I can tell you some jokes are going to go right over people's heads so get to kno your audience! (Also if a chick doesn't get an intelligent joke and everyone else does... get a nice lil Neg in!)
