Post subject:  slightly modify the guru's openers to suit your needs.

As the title says you should slightly modify the guru's openers to suit your needs e.g. a lot of the openers i see being used are opinion openers, many of which you claim you are specifically "seeking a woman's" opinion. Although there are many canned openers which follow this framework, it is often better to use this framework but customize it so it fits in with who you are.

For example recently I didn't know what to do with my hair i.e. grow it long, or get it cut short again (I just couldn't make my mind up). So i went over to a group of girls when I was out one night and asked them what i should do because "i needed a woman's opinion". After a couple of minutes of conversation and negging them a couple of times as well as adding in a false time constraint, they couldn't keep their hands away from my hair and ended up arguing with each other.

The point is that if you can relate the openers to your self, you will come across as more genuine. As well as this because you feel that it relates to you more, you will feel more confident delivering the opener (very often a problem for newbies), which in turn will consciously make you feel more confident as well as subconsciously, which will result in your body language naturally being more confident than faking it (many PUAs feel they have to fake it at first - Mystery even demonstrates this in VH1's The Pick Up artist because he makes the newbies act out their body language which just gives them more to think about, which can result in them screwing up)

At the end of the day, the emphasis is more on what happens after the opener, but I just thought for those struggling with openers or even AA caused by feeling "false" when using canned openers, this may help.
