I've got this buddy of mine who can come up with openers fairly easily, but he has a difficult time trying them out unless he knows they work! This is where I come in because, unfortunately, I'm kinda the opposite...I will go up and open whether I get shut out or not...I just have a hard time coming up with some good openers that I can claim! So I have this idea...oh jebus, someone stop me now...I'll be a field test dummy for anyone interested! It sounds a little odd, but not only would it help me with a little of my game but it also helps you out by having me field test potential openers or routines... I expect to get a little grief over this post...but thenagian I also plan on becoming a good PUA! The only thing I will say is that if your idea that you give me is just blatently stupid....I won't do it...other than that I'm game! |

If he won't use an opener unless he knows it "works", why haven't you challenged him about why this is instead of handing shit to him? If you do that, he's just gonna start giving you shit about everything else after that. Then he's gonna complain if something doesn't work for him and blame you.Ask him what an opener is designed to do and get him to realise that he's thinking about this all wrong. An opener is designed to start a conversation. That's it. He seems to be operating under the influence that a "good" opener defines the outcome of the interaction as a whole, and he needs to snap out of it - pronto. He thinks that this is all some magic pill that if you just say the right stuff and in the right order that everything is gonna just fall into place and work out. The guy has a lot of stuff to realise. Good luck with him. You should really get him to sign up here, cos by the sounds of it he's gonna frustrate the ever-loving shit outta you before too long. |

You know, I didn't really percieve this as a problem initially, but I can deffinately can it becoming one...He does tend to get a little down when he gets shut out of a set and I can think of one time he actually set a bad tone the rest of the night and blew me out of a few sets! I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt but i'm starting to see that he's just an AFC who knows a few things... I'll whip his ass into shape! |
