Post subject:  Policemans Notebook! Works EVERY TIME!

Hi Guy's,

Been reading a lot into this recently and decided to use my innovative mind to come up with something new which me and a few guys trialed on NYE...succesfully!

Basically we all went to the supermarket, bought a shitty little notepad each like a policeman has, and nabbed a load of pens from the bookies (you know the Argos style ones). Then we hit the town...

The notepads were great, for several reasons...

Opening - We all split up around the club (5 of us in a club of around 300) and just kept opening sets either with "Hi, I do characatures, and i'd love to do you" (double meaning there, so have a cheeky grin), or by simply just starting to draw the set until curiosity gets the better of them and they ask what you are up to (then use the line above). Chuck in a time constraint here for good measure.

Mid Game - None of us were artists, so we were all drawing stick women and picking up on key features... ;-) but also, this is a great way to neg if the girl is being bitchy/has given you a reason too... just emphasise her makeup, or draw a grumpy face, but remember to make a joke of it with her mates!
The best thing is, that 9 times out of 10 they genuinely believed we were artists, so look like you are being realy serious when drawing, and make them work to get you to show them the drawing, this will lead to kino (while they are trying to grab the picture) and loads of ioi's! Obviously when you show the stick drawing its really funny too, and being funny is NEVER a bad thing!

Closing - At the end of the day, this is the easiest bit. A number close is dead simple, you put their name on the top of your drawing, and they write their number at the bottom... But I have basically shown you the door, use any other techniques to k close or further ;-)

A couple other points to note in case you aren't sold...

Attention - you are drawing (no punn intended) loads of attention from other sets and showing great social value

Memories - even if she's a minger, if you are pissed, the next day i promise you will have some hillarious drawings for your wall!

Let me know what you think guys?!

Cheers,

A nice opener, I'm looking at other ways of opening without using indirect or situational openers and I can have a night off with the 'What's your take, opinion lark'. I can't draw for toffee, but I'll be sure to have a notepad handy next time I'm opening a set. Mine will just be a stick picture too, will let you guys know how it went. For my foreign environment I'm going to have to just call myself an artist, I don't think the local ladies would understand what a characature is, hehe.

Hoping for some success with this, can definitely see kino coming into play along with the IOIs. Will strive to keep a serious expression on my face whilst drawing and keep that mysterious touch.

Also, I might try this out in A2 and A3, see how it goes down too. Can throw a neg or two out with your drawing like if she seems to have a big ego, drawing her with a huge head but then complimenting her on her eyes or something.

Yeah, be careful with negging tho... make sure they give you a reason to do so, but love the ego twist with a big head!

Also, I was just reading up a bit more on the cube technique, if you have a notepad handy you could sketch what they describe (which can also be funny when you show the pic i.e. pantomime horse?!) Or even take notes of what they say making the cube even more dramatic??

Cheers

Yeah, I hear you on the negging, I always take into account her number so if she
s a HB9 or 10 if I come across any, I'll usually go with 2-3. HBs 7-8 might need 1-2. Some birds with LSE probably won't need any because if you do use a neg you might come come across as a prick. Some girls don't appreciate the C&F technique, so I feel it's best to classify your target.

I love your idea about using the cube with this routine as the cube is probably my most successful and favourite routine at the moment. Will give that a try too, I'm meeting a female friend soon who wants the cube run on her so I might attempt my first drawing and see what she thinks. She's very direct and tells me exactly what she thinks.

Sounds good, would be really useful to hear others comments if they have success or not with this.
