Post subject:  Thinking to much

hey everyone, this is my first post and i just wanted to ask for some advice.

i think my biggest problem opening is that i think to much about how im going to open and then how i'm going to continue the conversation, its not necessarily AA. i'm guessing this would go away after i become a bit more experience.

just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if you have any tips on how i could get over this issue of mine

any feedback welcome, thanks in advance

Truck

EDIT: ahh crap i think i posted in the wrong section...

So hooking then I'm assuming? After a decent open, you have her attention and youre wondering where you go..

ya, this is a common thing man. Tyler Durden, who I'm a fan of, has a technique he calls plowing. Its when you just talk about different threads/topics that are interesting/fun one after another till something hooks her interest. You want to be engaging, but not give a shit about the outcome of the interaction, naturally. You want to talk to the set like you've know them your whole life; completely comfortable.

It may take three or four topics till something hits, but it eventually will if you emit a fun/positive personality. Good hooking topics; cute animal stories, childhood throwbacks, funny personal experiences, etc.
One time I had this bunny in my pool chilling in the shallow end. It slopes down the way a beach or lake would. Anyways, it had fallen in. I spice that shit up and talk about how it was drinking pinacoladas, suntanning etc.

I also talk about running away when I was 6 with my little sister, and how we took all our stuffed animals rather than just a one or two so the others wouldn't feel bad. Blah blah blah. Appeal to her imagination with aesthetic details; colors, shapes, animate movements, yatta yat...

A good trick is to anchor stories/ routines to your fingers on one or both hands that you can refer to when you draw a blank.

Another good technique is coming up with a story displaying high value for every letter of the alphabet. I've done this thru letter D, lol. So if you have a good story involving apples, that would be A; another story about bicycles for B, etc. Write these out on paper and you will never draw a blank again.

Well maybe im kicking in a wide open door here and you're already doing that, but of course you can decide beforehand on how you will open this time. Than when you see this cute woman you only need to deliver you're line. Later with more experience you might do this less and just try to think of something more natural and spontanious.

And don't forget the 3-second rule. When spotting someone make sure you approach her within 3 seconds to prevent your mind starting to rattle.
