I work in a retail shop and get to meet and attend to a lot of HB 8,9s and sometimes even HB10s ..... i get to talk to them, but its only related to the product they are interested in or looking at .... what can i say to these HBs to start the REAL conversation ....??

I just answered a similar question to this in the thread below. Transitioning and creating ongoing conversation with a zest to it is the trickiest part for sure, but quite easy after you got the hang of it, if you're relaxed and not worried about the outcome (or even expect), you're more likely to get a better one.
When shopping: Ask about the product, make a comment, transition with a question, something like (e.g) 'so whats it like working in_? I...' or one she cant answer by saying 'yes' or 'no'

Right, that was kind of directed at the the other guy.
Just make a comment on something about her or what she wearing, ask her a question, try taking some of the opinion openers you find on the net and use them to transition if you cant think of anything. Things will also come to you and you may not even have to use any canned material, use what you're given at the time, it could be anything.
Watching others is the best way to learn, check out some of video's on youtube if you hav'nt already.

Here's a good one. When she tries something on and asks your opinion, be an opposite salesman. Tell her that what she's tried on or picked out isn't working. By being "honest" it will DHV and also will up her intrigue factor of you. "No, it doesn't fit your body right." or "Honestly, that's not your color." or "it makes you look a little bigger than you are." Very appropriate soft negs for the situation. Always being friendly and smiling.

Also, when you suggest something to her and she's receptive to it, throw in approval comments, like "wow, you're fun." things of that nature. Let me know how it works.

Peace
