So, been talking to this girl via Facebook, she is like 5 years younger than me. I have never met her, a female friend of mine just said she has a nice friend. Decided to go for it because why not.

So we got over the awkward part and talked a bit, but not that much. I told her to give me her number because Facebook sucks.

She said "maybe if you say please".

I have actually always been blown off or gotten the number. Am I correct in thinking saying please now is the wrong way to go ?

plenty of fish in the sea, but you could do a social experiment to see where supplicating gets you

I was about to text "I know you want to give it to me" but thankfully waited a bit. 1 hour after her last text she just gave me her number, "just this once". I didn't have to do anything.

It's probably best to change the subject slightly or just wait a bit. Tricky situation nonetheless

It looks like she just didn't want to look easy... (I really hate this fear, but I accept it.)

Once a girl told me: "OK, I'll give it to you (the number haha) if you can remember it. I said OK, and after she told me (edit: her number), I said "I'll memorise it in the phone, just in case"... :) She was glad to.

And here I'd like to say, a good thing in such case is to give her yours (number), which I did (edit: exchange). I didn't like her much (this was really a reason), and I would never have called her, but she contacted me after a few days (SMS), and I thought "why not". :D
