Hi

So I attend a few of networking events or meet friends of friends etc.

Curious what you all say when meeting new people, men or women?

I do know how to get a convo going but it tends to be intro+questions or jump into their convo if a group.

Curious if you have any generic one liners when meeting new people that work across situations? Something with a little charm but not too try hard comedic or cliche?

Part of being charming is being spontaneous. Kinda hard to be scripted and spontaneous.

My best advice for you would be say "hi" and SMILE! The most charming thing you could do is smile yet is see so many guys out there approach a girl with a look on their face like they are ready to kick her ass.

This, but also you can use something I like to use, and that is to turn the entire focus on them, and become curious
about them.

Simply ask them this question: "So what's up with you? Do you work, go to school?"

When they answer, continue with, "Oh, interesting, what made you go into that?"

When they say what got them into it, relate it to something similar from your life. So if for example what got them
into accounting is their parents being in accounting, say, "Yea I can relate to that. Most of my friends are into their work following their parents footsteps, I think it's kind of noble..."

Get it?

rule of thumb is that people like to talk about themselves. ALWAYS keep that in mind.

Try to find something unique that you like about them. Especially like clothes or shoes. Instead of questions, study her a moment and make assumptions about her. Tell her you can read people. But you can't. And actually, the more terrible at it you are, the better. Make a game of it. You tell her that she is a college librarian. She say no, and tells you what she does. Questions answered without ASKING them.
