Post subject:  Caught red handed using an opener
Has someone been able to figure out what to do if someone in the target group catches you using a canned opener (i've heard this before) or says is that from the book game?

Relax.

It rarely happens. And for those odd occasions where it does you can connect on the fact they've read the game. "No way. You've read the game. What did you think?"

Personally, it never happened to me before.

But if it happened, I would be very casual and relaxed about it, not making it into a big deal and just go with the flow of events.

So if some woman calls your routine as a canned routine, say "Wow, you got me...what will we do now? :))"

You want to point out that it's not a big deal if you're using something you read somewhere.

If anything, it shows that you're a person who wants to improve himself.

Point to this is, that if you think it's a big deal, SHE will think it's a big deal as well. If you think it's whatever, she will brush it off as whatever as well.

Power of belief. Whatever you believe, so it will be for you.

I like the suggestion of making the fact you both read the book something in common. Nothing to be ashamed of in social experimentation. What's he going to do, accuse you of trying to get laid? I see nothing to be ashamed of or worried about in that.

Once in a math class:
I knew the girl, I was just being cheesy but it was still a witty response. I opened with a canned line.

Girl: "Nice line."
Rugby7: "Do you have to be so 1-Dimensional? I was thinking more along the 'lines' of a manifold'"

It was so cheesy she couldn't stop laughing. This wit comes from natural game though. You don't have to use canned material to open.

thats never happened to me before. but if it did. ask them to explain it as if you didn't know there was such thing as a pickup artist. i had never heard of this stuff until i studied it. i don't even know if the information in the game is based on real psychological principals anyway.

THIS. How hard is it to see a girl, maybe trying to lift something, going up to her and casually saying "u sure you can lift all that?" She giggles, replies, you reply, she replies back, you're in. OR WHATEVER PERTAINS TO THE UNIQUE SITUATION YOU FIND YOURSELF IN WITH THE GIRL. There are an infinite amount of openers that can be used. Be creative gents.

Also if someone were to deliver an opener - any opener, canned or uncanned - in a way that it was obvious he was "trying" something on the girl, she can smell that a mile away. Talk to them like the human beings they are.

Agree with not using canned openers, but I try to use the 3 second rule so sometimes I resort to a canned open without thinking about it. If it happens, whatever you do, DO NOT try to deny it or save face. If you're any decent at pickup, you should have accepted a long time ago that this is who you are and you aren't embarrassed by it. I had a situation last month where I use an opinion opener on a set and one of the girls says something like "Um, you asked me that same exact thing like a month ago." I didn't recognize her, and I was caught. So instead of saying some bs like "I've never seen you before in my life" I just went completely honest and said its a non-threatening way to strike up a convo with a stranger. That diffused her negativity and we talked for a bit more. If you have to, just be honest but the most important thing is not letting them beat you by embarrassing you. You're cool with it, you think its no big deal because it really isnt.

Or you could just use less famous canned openers. It's not like I've seen much that even seems good from MM/The game. The jealous ex-grilfriend and the ocean one are about the only ones that seems interesting and could draw girls in.
Captain Jack had some interesting stuff. If I were going to go canned, I'd probably use his stuff.

I've run a gazillion sets with standard community openers and never been called out. Normally if you DO get called out (very, very rare) it's because your non-verbals are off.

But, remember, standard community openers are just training wheels anyway. Eventually you should create your own. After you get to a fairly high level you can open with pretty much anything if she's 8 or below.

To get a real 10 in club game you will need to run social dynamics and that is very hard to pull off without controlling the variables via scripted interaction.

Just last night I was running a set and a very hot 9-10 stood right next to me... instead of snapping to and running proper game I went situational and it didn't really hook... I tried to get proper but the hole was dug and it went nowhere. They are too rare to leave to chance.

The 7/8 I was talking to was all ears though.

Own it and ask a question about it. If you freeze you up, you lose. I'm not one for canned openers, but who cares if you used some can opener. Its an ice breaker, the real seduction takes place after the opener. A girls not sleeping with you or getting in a LTR because she liked your opener. Its about what comes after. So who cares? <--- This should be your attitude.

Are you still stuck in the number rating of individuals.
Your never going to get anywhere in the long run.
You only going to put up an mental obstacles that doesn't really exist outside your head and you give out non verbal sub communications that makes anyone to reject you no madder how their outside looks like.
Everything is relative on how you see your self and how you see others of there outside look and so on.
If your hunting low quality individual go for it, if you looking for something real stop goo for what others see as a high quality. Same thing with sex.
