If you say in my language to a 30 yo, sophisticated business woman, or a PHD student: Hey you, you look fantastic..................
it is patronising, and rude. I am 37, so if I say the same line:
Hey hello, you.... to 20 yr HB students, or salesgirls, it is OK, but I recently quit the young HB game, because everybody said I was a kreep for sarging 20 yr-olds.

If I say Hello Madam, and use te formal verb sintax, I will create an instant formal businesslike vibe that can set her on automatic. She will take on a conforntive face, fortify her voice tonality, and carry on giving me a sales pitch on IPO trends, or the latest marketing gimmick, or her assumptions on EURO rate fluctuation.

The question is which bad communication style to chose from the two evil, formal informal. English is simple only one verb syntax.
