Post subject:  Approaching a store clerk?

Scenario is a girl that works at Meijers. (If you're not from the midwest its basically a walmart, but better.) Any way she works the self check out cash register. I've had a casual conversation with her in the past, because I know her boss.

When ever I'm back in there she stares at me, and we often lock eyes. I take that as an IOI. Its hard to talk to her though because she's working, and there's always people and shit going on. She can't just stop and chat really.

Anyone got any advice how to get her number/ask her out?

I was thinking saying hey I'm friends with your boss Jaci, I need to ask you something on her behalf, but I know your busy right now, let me get your number. And the I just ask her out via text/call? Thoughts?

Ok, scenario sounds solid enough. She is probably interested, locking eyes with her is usually an IOI. Do you talk to her at the register? Just small talk, how do you do? Busy day? If she responds well to this it might be another IOI. On a side note, try saying something witty that has nothing to do with her work. Most people that come to her at the job will probably say the same thing, try to break that standard.

I honestly don't think it's a good idea to use an excuse as in I know your boss to get her number. If you like her and want to get to know her and that's the reason why you want her number, tell her that. She wants to feel desired. My GF is a cashier as well and I got you're number by saying: "You're hot, we should date, what's your number." while she was working. Okay, I already had met her in a pub, but still. Best thing still was getting her # on the back of the receipt.

Okay that is good advice. I'm trying to walk the balance of using some excuse versus just straight up ask out. It could put her in an awkward position where the girl is likely to say no, even if she wants to. But maybe not.

Thanks for the advice.

This usually works for me "You would probably make a better waitress than a cashier. You're too cute/attractive/compliment to be a cashier"

I just got home from the grocery store and cashier was smoking hot. Looked like Angelina Jolie with black hair. She had no make up and looked like she has had a long day.

I was going to talk with her but it was really busy and a long line and the guy behind me was standing close enough behind me touching me. What should I say to her when I go back? How soon should I go back?

Thx

Tell her, "girl the only reason I come to this store is to see those pretty eyes."

You need to look for the "window of opportunity" because you are blocked by others opinions, that is a limitation so you have to search that moment when she is alone and go for it.
Dont think too much, JUST GO and say something honest (because she already "knows you" and surely your intentions and probably approbes that with her IOIs)

That's creepy.

No, simply ask her "When's your lunch break? Can I buy you lunch? Let's just chat"

Go shop there several times, always picking her register, and every time just saying "Hi, how are you" ... and then after a while if she's warm you can offer to buy her coffee/lunch on her break.

Saying "I just come here for your pretty eyes" makes you sound obsessed or like you're stalking her.

Don't offer to buy her lunch (I think that is AFC). Just, "When's your lunch break? I'll join you".

Or a gem haven't used yet, "Listen... I think is low to ask a girl out while she's on the clock. Maybe if we plan to meet someplace else I can ask you out there?"

And do what? Annoy her when she needs to grab something to eat? IMO it perfectly OK to be AFC when you approach someone so poorly paid like a cashier. It's not like these girls are spoiled daddy's girls from So Cal.

But I like your 2nd suggestion.

Do what? Talk, eat, smile, flirt... So if you aren't buying you are an annoyance? If you don't bribe them you are a pest? That's exactly the relationship to be avoided. She is providing her own lunch anyway, the company is supposed to be a bonus, not a deterrent. If you feel that you are imposing yourself in a way that requires renumeration, then you aren't asking out the right girls or need some self-esteem work. imo

Fine, are you saying that you are not even going to offer to pay the bill when it arrives? What are you going to do, go item by item and figure out who pays for what?

Remember, we're talking a lowly grocery store clerk. When I go on first dates I always pay, but again I never pick an expensive place. Chinese restaurants are good and cheap. I dont think you're scoring points by proposing to split the check.

Yes. That's EXACTLY what I'm saying... have you seriously never heard this line of thought before? Really?!

Just say, "hey, I don't mind springing for stuff later on, but first time out I like to keep money out of it. Sets the tone better." Girls respect that, big time, the cool ones at least. Bribing girls and automatic treating is for provider males. It's the category that the girl puts you in. You may not think much of buying lunch, but it will land you in the category of men that buy food, drinks, diamonds, cars, trips big house with white picket fence and in the end the woman runs of to fuck the guy who wouldn't buy her anything on a first date. This is well understood and best not ignored.

Google "buy me a drink?" test.

And "we're talking a lowly grocery store clerk"... you might be. I'm talking about woman, not a job title, and looking at her like a charity case is a totally unhealthy and again, provider male. We learn pickup to develop skills precisely so we don't need to play that crappy game. We provide positive emotions. Let someone else provide materialistic stuff.

Trust me, I'm not alone in this view.

That's a solid philosophy when you want to pursue a serious, LTR, for example with girls at your college. Thanks for educating me! Seriously.

But in this case we're clearly talking about a fling--sleep with each other for a few weeks, and go on your separate ways, each back to their own world. Are you saying that it paying for lunch doesnt grease the wheels? Or paying for hotel rooms if I take her for a mini-vacation? Nobody is proposing marriage for gods sake. Keep it going as long as it's working out without any drama

Maybe I am wrong, but these internet philosophies are not to be applied indiscriminately.
