How to pick up women at restauran? Please help

Post subject:  How to pick up women at restauran? Please help
Imagine this situation. I'm sitting at a table in a restaurant and she's sitting one or two table away by her self or with her girlfriends.
1- There is literally no reasonable excuse for me to go around her and start a situational talk (for example we are not waiting in a line or something)
2- No matter how much I try I can't catch her eyes to smile or something (or even if I could, then what?)
3- There is no way in hell for me to know if she's single or married or anything.

So, the question is, how can I hit on her while minimizing the possible damage, so, you know, I won't end up killing my self!

1 - Imagine yourself in the opposite situation. What if you were in a group of guys and a girl came up to you and said that she wanted to talk? Some people would find that weird and awkward (unless she's ridiculously hot) but most would at least give it a shot. I think part of meeting new people works because people have a stronger desire to not-offend than they do to run away. But in that time if you turn it into something that they end up liking, they'll completely forget about the first impression.
2 - If you catch her eyes, hold contact as long as you can and smile in a seductive way. Then approach with something totally non-sexual. A few things could happen. She could be into you. That's rare, and at that point you just need to not mess things up. Second, she could avert her gaze immediately. This doesn't mean anything, and most people will do this. Just go open her. Finally, she could make a really disgusting face at you. Don't open her. Just playfully stick out your tongue. If she ends up laughing, then open her, but pay a lot more attention to her friends than to her.
3 - You're absolutely correct. Even if you went and talked to her you might not learn that. She might lie. You're also assuming that just because she's in a relationship that means she's happy. It doesn't matter though. It's not your job to protect her relationships. That's her job. Besides, it's not like you have to sleep with this girl just because you talked to her. She could become your friend or she might have friends. There are all sorts of other reasons that a guy and girl might want to talk to each other.

Finally, don't kill yourself. If you have a failed social interaction, so what? You might get a bad feeling, right? I think that feeling comes from the time we lived in tribes. We felt that way so that we wouldn't do it again. That's an instinct that we have to fight because we're not tribal any more. Nobody saw you flame out, and even if they did, nobody will think that if you just walk away looking confident and happy. Still, it's a feeling though. You're going to feel it if you talk to someone and get rejected. That's the down side though. The upside is that you might fall wildly in love and live happily ever after with lots of sex. lol

Thank you very much. It helped to some degree.

About point number 1: I don't think it's a correct comparison. If a girl that looks above medium (or maybe even below medium) approaches me in any possible situation I would accept her, and I'm pretty sure every guy that is not a PUA would do the same! But that's not the case with women, especially the one's above medium.

In the past, I have done this. This is what I do........I write my number and email on something, go up to the girl, say Hi, I think you are beautiful, (Or something along that) give my number, smile, say bye, and walk away. Out of the 5-10 times Ive done this, it's worked one time lol. Its certainly not a clean PUA tactic but its a very tough situation for me and thats the only way I know how to get the courage to do it.

PS: The one time it worked resulted with me getting laid, however we did not last very long.

This shows much interest right from the start, and is not a good thing in my opinion.

Just give a smile and open with a question or a comment. I usually open with a joke. Don't flirt from the beginning though, she might think that you're spilling yourself over her and will mostly flake you.

If you're not the funny type of guy, just ask her opinion on something and say that you could use a woman to give you her opinion.

Just jump the deep end.

The sheer balls it takes to approach like that is commendable and the group of girls will help you get her number if you do it smoothly.

Flip side is that it will be the most awkward rejection ever, but you have to break a few eggs to make an omelette I guest..

Don't think, just go in, break the ice. Tell the girl you like her, make smal talk with her friends "what's the occasion?" Then leave. You will be talked about the whole night which will solidly the number if you do it correctly.

You still have the bf statistic so won't be the perfect scenario. But most girls will appreciate the approach.
