Hey guys, I'm wondering what is the best way of opening HB in a gym or fitness class if they come to use a (cardio)machine next to you. Should it be attempted - or should i wait until after and try to catch her then? I tried today without much success. This HB8 came to use the rowing machine next to me. I was resting so I opened her without thinking... "Hard these machines eh?" - lame i know, didnt think... "What?" - she smiled( i was out of breath) "These rowers... hard" - or something like that She smiled but said nothing more. When she started rowing I said "that's a nice breeze from there now" - smiles again Since she hadn't said anything i just started my next row and she left by the time i'd finished it(i didn't get a bye) so i guess she was weirded out a bit by me I was dripping sweat and must've looked like a fucking tomato which must've been really obvious(i am there to workout not to pick up) so i wanted to use that as context...That is usually the case when i'm there. So help me out guys...what could i have said differently to open, or even after that terrible opener which lead nowhere how to continue it (she smiled so I'll take that as an IOI and go for it!)? I feel like i shouldve maybe waited until the end, but by then ive usually over-thought it , have AA and don't make the approach so its really a now or never thing (im new)! |

Your opener is kind of lame, it's pretty much what most guys would say to a girl on a treadmill, not surprised she blanked you. With gym stuff, playing the longer game is better in my opinion. Hopefully you will see her regularly , so you can start with a simple hi, then do it again and again the next few times until she becomes quite open to the routine of you saying hi to her. Become familiar with one another. Perhaps let her see you be sociable with everybody, including men. Once you are regular gym rates, at this point this is where you can strike and go for some decent rapport and get to know her, perhaps start with gym chat, and why she does and if she is committed, and you can talk down how most of your friends can't commit which she can relate to, then you can dig deeper into her personal life.. Once you become friends, try to flirt more and put some sexual element to it so that you don't become her gym buddy. Then you can simply ask her on a high point to go for a bike ride with you one day or a private drink (a date!) If you will not see her again and you must do or die, I would just go direct and tell her she is stunning and that you have spotted her checking your butt out in the mirrors every 10secs (to break the ice) Hope this helps. |

I'd focus on girls in the weight room vs the cardio stuff.. talking to a girl while she is doing cardio is really fucking annoying to them which basically means you have a very small window when she is wiping the machine down, getting on it to start, or walking to her machine. It's way easier to open in the weight room. |

Well, if i was a girl I'd be annoyed too if some guy tried chatting me up whilst doing 100kg squats aswell as treadmill. (unless it was Brad Pitt) perhaps save the approaching for when she is at the water fountain or in the cafeteria or something. |

Well yea, not during the exercise, but there is plenty more idle time when someone is lifting then when someone is running on a treadmill

Ok thanks for the tips guys but a few things 1. I am fucking brad pitt! - Its all about confidence right? 2. I have injuries from the weights so the best i can lift right now i about 5kg, and i don't spend long on that before im bored - so i go to do cardio most of the time. 3. This is more what i was asking in the OP - When i'm doing cardio and the HB checks you out and comes to the machine next to you, isnt that an invitation to open? If so what should that opener be? 4. I also asked about classes (you know like yoga or a bike spin class - HB flock to them and there is like no guys!) - i would walk in and get some looks...should i just walk up to a crowd of them and start talking about whatever? Or walk up to the only guy, talk to him and play the long game like you suggested. Thanks guys |
