| Post subject: | How to avoid the cold looks? |
Hello, I'm pretty new to whole pickup thing, altough I have read a number of books about confidence and social skills. I'd say I'm pretty charming guy, and I don't feel too intimidated by females generally. I have been trying to improve my "game" lately. I have went to clubs and opened sets, usually sets of 1-3 of females, and usually with something direct like "hi how are you?" or something like that. One thing that pisses me off, is the cold looks some HBs give even before I have opened my mouth Cheers, Shyguy |

When I approach I don't let them see me coming towards them with the intention of approaching. I use the technique Style suggests using in The Game where you approach them from an angle and off-handedly initiate a conversation with them. One of the rules was never approach dead on or from behind unless you're entering from an angle. I've never opened with "Hi, how are you?" as it makes me feel a bit awkward. I usually open up with a story or get them involved in an ongoing conversation "A friend and I were discussing X, Y and Z what's your opinion?" or if we're at a bar and I see two women sitting down with free seats i'll just say "Do you mind if we take these seats?", sit down and start some BS conversation with my wing and get the two girls involved. Personally, I find it a lot more natural to say something like that and not come across as threatening or needy. In my experience women are quite happy to converse with me when I have a reason to say something. I'm new to this too so i'm sure there's better advice out there but this is what i've found works for me. I've had a high success rate at opening like this and find you can naturally work from a simple opener like that to getting their name and being cheeky with them, especially when they share their opinions. |

I think that cold looks are because women are afraid. They are afraid that you do something awkward that makes them look bad or something else. I would ignore their fear and approach them anyways. If you hesitate even a bit, that makes them feel even more insecure and fearful. They want to feel appreciated and if you approach them, look them into eyes and smile, they feel it. Women need validation much more than men. If they are not approached right away, they might think that they need to fix their make up etc. Man needs to be spontaneous and fluent. There is more into it though. Sometimes they give you cold looks, because you are cold. If you smiled a little bit more and had more fun, they might give you approach invitation and not be afraid. But yeah, staring is not good. Eye contact with smile, is not awkward. You can signal, that you have noticed the girl, but you are having so good time, that you don't feel the need to approach. Then approach later if you have time. You have priorities in life after all |
