Post subject:  Tips on appearance

What's up guys, I was just wondering what you all think of my appearance and if there's anything I can change about it. Well here it goes:
- 19 years old
- 5'11", 79kg, chubby
- Hair style: random (I basically cut my hair when I remember to, currently it's in that gay phase between short hair and long hair, I believe I have a diamond shaped face, so some hairstyle along that line would be good)
- Face: I have a full beard going that is detailed (cheek line and neck line)
- Clothing (winter/fall):
- T-shirt (usually black/grey)
- Hoodie (plain, usually black/grey)
- Jeans (dark wash, relaxed fit)
- Casual shoes (Converse/Adidas black/grey)
- Leather jacket (black)
- Recently started wearing a scarf (black with white and grey trim)
- Hat (during winter) with the ears covered and fur (the Russian style ones)

Thanks in advance for any opinions/comments.

It's best if you have an "image". A category that women can put you in when they meet you that they think is sexy. Your clothes should express who you are and the type of life you lead. It has to be something that you can be congruent with though, and the stories you tell girls and the picture you paint to girls about what your life is like should match your clothes. Sinn calls this a "sexual stereotype."

Some guys are "the businessman guy", some are "skater guy", "guitarist guy", "rocker guy", "hip hop guy", "frat guy" etc...

You have to find something that's comfortable for you to fit into.

While that's true, breaking those categories down can work in your favor. If you can look good, but a girl can't fit you within one of those stereotypes, you've already shown her that you've broken the mold. I found this one out by accident.

Throughout high school, I dressed like a prep. I bought all of my clothes at Abercrombie and Fitch because I figured, hey, it's expensive, so it ought to look good. But then I was a preppy kid in a sea of preppy kids. As time went on, I picked up hipster fashion, little by little. The way I dress now is a little preppy, a little hipster. I don't look like I belong in any stereotype, but I look good.

Sometimes in a conversation (especially if the girl is drunk or an underclassman) she will ask me, "Are you a hipster/prep-school kid?" at which point I reply with a scoff and say, "You think I'm one of those pretentious bastards? I dress like me."

Her question indicates intrique. Subcultures are exotic to people not in those subcultures, especially if they've been talking to you all night. Your answer is an act of pulling away--kind of like cat-string theory. You've indicated that you're an individual, and that her act of trying to categorize you diminishes your personality.

From my own experience, i've noticed that having something special always works in your favour. Typical earrings nowadays are either a diamond or a ring. I've always liked korean/asian fashion for it's unique-ness so i started looking for an earring in that category, decided to buy a ring with a crown hanging to it and i've gotta admit, it sure as hell helps, i've had so many girls open my up saying they found my earring special, or that that's what they remember me by. and every time they ask me why i bought it, i go like

''You see this crown?''
''Yes?''
''That means i'm the king of myself''

It fits my personality as i'm always honest, direct and sorta fuck whatever happends.
