Hey guys, I'm really new to pickup (and chicks in general, i'm a virgin), I read Neil Strauss's book as well as Double Your Dating and I was hoping to hit on a girl tomorrow. I go to college at CU Boulder and all the time I walk by public College areas with smoking hott chicks sitting around at tables (sometimes by themselves). So I thought up a speach routine based on David DeAngelo's gold that I almost used today but I just had such crippling approach anxiety that I couldn't go through it. What I was thinking was something like this: Le Chick is sitting alone at table typing away on laptop, looking smoking hott. Enter me. I walk up, bring up a chair and sit down, whilst at the same time saying "Hey, aren't you glad I decided to sit here?" Le Chick: "What?" or "Why would I be? I don't even know you." Me: "I could have sat anywhere and I decided to sit here. Not only that, I'm saving you from both your loneliness and your boring and frustrating homework." I'm pretty much locked in at that point, right? I've come across as both cocky and funny. I've got an awesome frame, and if things start to get boring or go cold I even plan to use Style's Penny Nicholas Dime routine. Is it a bad idea to ask her what shes working on, and if its homework offer to help her with it? I really hope I can manage to blow past the approach anxiety without it totally fucking up my delivery and cocky frame tomorrow. Any tips? What do you guys think, is this good pickup? |

Hey man, you did a good job at approaching, something tons of guys can't do.However if i were you, i would go for a direct opener in this situation. If you don't wanna go for a direct opener, you could always go and ask for her opinion, or in other words indirect. |

Good advice, I think I might end up working that somewhere into the conversation, since I really like the cocky/funny frame it boosts me into, but you're right that it probably isn't best to lead with that since its pretty aggressive.
