Post subject:  Opening a cashier

There is a cute cashier at a starbucks. I made small talk with her, and it seems she is into similar stuff I am into. Would this be a good approach? It's quick and simple. I don't want to hold her up from doing her job and helping other customers. I will try and do this when there is no one else in line.

I will open my phone to the add contacts menu, and type in the name field: Cute Starbucks Girl. When there is no line and she is working the register, I will go up to her and buy something. then I will say: "Something's wrong with my phone. Take a look."

I will put my phone, she will see the name in the contact and pretty much be forced to put in her number. I don't see what could possibly go wrong, other than her just saying "I'm sorry" and handing it back to me.

No conversation even needed, really. You see, I have not yet approached a girl with the intent to close her yet. Seems like a reasonable place to start.

What do you think?

This is not like the movies and I don't know what you think about that but I reckon is too much it just seems like something you saw in a movie and now you are trying to do the same BUT if you feel comfortable doing it. Just do it.

I'd recommend a much more normal approach but once again it's pretty much what you feel comfortable saying or doing.

I disagree, I really like it. Its clever and dramatic and I actually thought up a similar way to pick up numbers myself earlier. Definitely try it and let me know how it works!

Yea, it's clever and dramatic, but it's also an extremely risky tactic in a situation where you have maybe not built enough attraction yet!

If she gives you her number, she's yours ; if she doesn't, you've bombed completely.

The problem is that you've cornered her too much: you're forcing her to take a decision before having had enough time to generate that 'seduction spark'...

If I were you I would find something I have in common with the girl, and arrange to meet up to try it out together. Then hand her the phone to input her number.
The 'Cute Starbucks Girl' in the name field is good though.

I go with Juliet on this one, however based on how your local starbucks looks on the inside you could just go to the cashier shen she works there and ask for a bigmac menu with large fries and a sprite. When she gives you that look like youre a fuckin pothead, you just go like "No? Oh well ok then i'll have you instead, name and number please and two large lattes" :)
Haha thanks for your replies guys, I like this one. Maybe I'll try it.

Personally I'm a cashier at my workplace and when people hit on my female co-workers, they all kindly reject them and then make fun of them after they leave. I mean, you'll make her day, but she doesn't care about you and it gives her bragging rights. Proceed at your own risk.

Well most of those guys probably haven't read a single thing about pickup.

I opened to a cashier at a sporting goods place. Just did a little small talk and asked if she had a boyfriend. She said no, I said you should give me your number, she was happy and weve talked a few times since. Just need to be straight forward and not beat around the bush.

Clever, but I wouldn't use it to the cashier if you haven't previously built some sort of rapport. Chances are a girl won't just you her number to a stranger just like that. Especially if she's high value.

One of my coworkers was hit on in the drive thru when this black guy pulled up and told her she was cute. As soon as he left she babbled about how this "creep" said she was cute blah blah and making fun of him. That made her day, but she didn't return the favor. Just putting that out there.
