I am pretty comfortable with opening girl only sets but i dont have any clue how to open a mixed set. And if/when i do open one i dont know what to do to stop the bloke either basically getting bored or just not wanting me to talk to his friend. Suggestions and advice please! |

One strategy that has worked for me is befriending the guy and ignoring the girls until he is very comfortable with you and doesn't see you as a threat. That means when you are talking to the guy don't be eyeing up the girls. Really ignore them and just be interest in what you and the guy are talking about. I like defaulting to sports.... If a girl tries to interrupt you two she's interested...and it gives you the opportunity to neg her in front of him even furthermore disqualifying yourself as a guy who is after the girls initially.Suggestions and advice please! You play it like you came over to talk to the guy....then later this girl caught your attention. |

Whenever I go into a mix set, the guys just leave. Only the girls stay. I even occasionally will try to bring the guys into the conversation just for the hell of it, but at the first chance, they flee. I remember one time, I talked to a 2 girl/1 guy set, used an opinion opener, and the guy just left and walked to the other side of the bar, I think. As soon as I was finished and walked away, I saw him zoom back into the set again. Is this normal? I'm not complaining. I rarely have to deal with AMOGs, but still... |
