So I got chatting to this girl on the IM on match. She's an HB8, from Mauritius, English is not her first language, but she seems pretty articulate. I busted her balls on her not having a personal ad, even though she had a few pics and bits and bobs about herself and suggested we played the '20 questions' game to help her write it. Everytime she game me an answer that I liked, e.g. Me: where's the craziest place you've had sex. HB8: i've had sex in a lot of crazy places, but probably St. James's Park, I rewarded her with points. I told her that if she reached 10 points she would win a prize. She asked what the prize was and I told her a date with me, which looking back feels a bit lame... what could I have said instead? I'm trying to make the prize me so maybe it wasn't that bad?! Anyway, this is what happened next. HB8: What's your type? Me: Tall, blonde and extremely attractive (She's 5'6" and Mauritian... tall and blonde is not my thing at all, but thought she would wanna know why I was chatting to her if I said the exact opposite of her) HB8: But I'm not tall and blonde, why are you chatting to me? Me: You have a sexy nose HB8: Haha. Thanks. I've not heard that one before. Then we talked for a while about random stuff and then I decided to #close. Me: Right, I've gotta go. Send me your number and maybe I'll give you a ring. HB8: MAYBE??? I don't do maybe. Honestly... Me: Haha HB8: I have to go too, I need to try on a few outfits for tonight. (This is when I was really lame!!!) Me: Here's my number XXXXXXXXXX send me a pic of your outfit and I'll tell you if it looks good. HB8: I can't do that... my fone is crap! Me: OK, no worries... enjoy! So that was the end of that conversation. She had my number and I thought that she would get in touch if she was interested. This convo happened around 2pm. About midnight I noticed she was online and chatted to her. Me: Sup? How was the theatre? HB8: It was really good thank you, although not as good as others. Me: What did you see? Let me guess... Ghost? HB8: No Betty Blue Eyes, Ghost next time. Me: I went to see Legally Blonde with my sister a few months ago... I must've been one of only 10 guys in there. I thought it was gonna be shit, but it was actually all right. (WOW, it's amazing how lame you can sound when looking back at things!!!) HB8 LOL. Right I have to go to bed. Are you on here 24/7? Me: Yeah, I'm not actually real. I'm a bot that chats to cute girls all day making them feel good. HB8: OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Me: You got my number? HB8: No Me: I'll text you it HB8: How will you do that? I don't remember giving you my number. Me: Tell you what, if I can guess the first two digits then will you give me the other 9? HB8: OK Me: Right, I reckon 0... and... 7 HB8: LOL, everyone knows them! How about the last two? Me: I said I'd guess the first two and you said you'd give me the others. HB8: Listen, I don't know why we need to swap numbers. It's obvious you're not interested in me. And it's obvious you're just bored - that's why you're chatting to me! Me: I'm really sorry if I gave you that impression. Was it the tall and blonde comment? HB8: No it was everything Me: I feel like such a tool HB8: Nite. So how do I get it back from here? What did I do wrong? I'm guessing that my teasing and IODI have led her to believe that I'm not interested at all. How can I show interest in the future without coming across as desperate? I feel like I tried getting her number far too much. Is there any way back??? |

Looks to me like she knew you were interested but she herself wasn't and was trying to pin it on you. |

try a few new approaches, approach 1) try being direct from start, and during the whole conversation just be absolutley honest about everything, make all your compliments genuine and honest and justify why you made them to her, if she becomes disrespectful at any time during the interaction, call her out, and give her 1 chance and that is all, if you catch her lieing do the same thing, call her out and let her know she only has 1 more chance, if they fuck up beyond that forget them, approach 2) frame control, learn what it is, and use it approach 3) just for shits and giggles if using an online dating site google, hot guy, and use a picture of a good looking man from google that is wearing clothes, watch what happens in your interactions, girls use fake pics all the time, will be fun |

So I left it a few days and then sent her a message to say that I thought she was really attractive and had a lot of qualities that I liked and that I was interested in taking her out. I put my number in the message, and forgot about it. Went to a BBQ tonight and just when I was about to leave I got a text her from her saying "Hey, it's X, I just got your email!" So we'll see how things go. Thanks for the tip on being more direct. Cheers. |

No date yet. Didn't really know what to text her as she didn't give me much to go on. In the end I just said "Hey, X! Ca va?" (She's French speaking). Any advice on a better approach? |

Dude. I'm from Mauritius and I've got to tell you.. chicks from Mauritius who chat online are only trying to kill time. If you really want to get the girl, you really need to plow, and to chat for a lot of hours, and build comfort, and do some attraction spikes, so you're not just a guy she chats with when there's nothing to do.
