First, special thanks to Esperanto for all his thoughts on the initial message. Okay so the woman in question in named Tara. I'm 23 and she's 33, with a profile that is seeking 28-40 years old. So here was my initial message... I headlined it with "Short, fat, ugly, bald guy with no self-esteem looking for love I like it because it kicks things off with a little C&F. Anyway the message goes on essentially dead on with Esperanto's framework...I open by telling her I can't say this often, but her profile lets me know she actually has a pulse. Her profile says she likes karoake, so I added I'd love to see her do karoake, but I insist on being the designated driver. Then (again taking from Esperanto), I go on to say it feels like most of the women on here seem like robots. I close with, "Anyway, if you have a down-to-earth sense of humor and can handle playful flirting, send me a message back here. I'm looking forward to hearing from you." I like this closer because it DHVs by making her qualify herself, then assumes that if she's worthy she will necessarily contact me. Onward. Here's the message I got back: { Well, B, thank you for appreciating my profile. I don't know what other gals have in theirs. I just made sure I was honest in mine. I'm happy it conveys the fact that, indeed, I do have a pulse. I just feel the need to bring one thing up.... I'm 10 years older than you... T } So I'm trying to think how to play this. She didn't outright shut down the possibility, so there has to be a key to this lock I'm just trying to think strategy here. Maybe some connection patterning. And bust her balls about why she's willing to date a guy 7 years older but not 10 years younger...is a 3 year difference enough not to make her a hypocrite? Or something along these lines. Anyway, I'm curious what y'all think. Not one-itis or anything, just an interesting gambit situation. -46 |

In case anyone is curious, here's the follow-up. Let me know what you all think of it: Well, T, somebody has their arithmetic down But if you feel like you really want someone bold, and someone who's honest, you might find yourself willing to look in places you might not have thought to look O:-) Let me know.
