| Post subject: | Status Updates - No Comments! |
Recently I've been using facebook increasingly to manage my game as I have built up some good connections and only have limited time to sarge. I've read a lot of posts and learnt some really useful things, but one area where I am hitting real problems is status updates. While I've been using facebook more I have been trying to post a status update at least once a day. I have tried to keep them fresh, original and congruent to my game but I have had next to no responses of late. I have used a few that made me laugh from here, but I just haven't been getting 'likes' or comments. So, I have two questions: (1) What makes people want to respond to a status update? I have around 300 friends on my profile, all of whom I met through sarging / the game. I have good contact with lots but no one's feeling my posts. Is there a good time to throw them up, should they be open questions, what do you guys think? (2) If I keep getting no / minimal responses should I stop updating as it is turning into a DLV? |

Everything I do on facebook is impulsive, and it seems to get a decent amount of comments and likes each time I post. I think the trick is to post freely and to not care about whether or not you're getting any likes/comments. For example, I finished 3 separate film cues the other night and the relief of doing that made me want to just listen to some Hendrix and relax. I posted something about it on my facebook, and immediately I had something like 10 comments and 4 likes. Show some personality and be spontaneous. |

This! There's a thread on here that has A LOT of good status messages, but I'm sure you already know that. But like Dr Beat said, don't even think about it. That's how I do it as well, and after like my second one I started to not even think about when I'd post my next one. It helps you think of your own too
