Post subject:  FB Opener...
Quick back story...a friend at work tells me his friend has been asking him if he has any single guy friends to introduce to her. He shows me a pic and asks me what I think. I told him she's cute so he texts her right there and describes me to her, then directs her to my FB page, where she can only view my profile pic. Her response to him was "delicious"...

I feel that it was pretty much left up to me to open this conversation, even though some friends said that if she's the one that's interested than wait foe her to contact me. M question is this, should I go with a conventional opener like "How's it going? _____ told me a lot of nice things about you so I figured I'd introduce myself."? Or should I try something more creative and bold, but I'm kinda stuck. Any suggestions?

Chat message:"Hey ___ told me some cool stuff about ya so I thought I'd prove him/her wrong"

Social Proof(friend of yours that she knows told you this) and neg right there.

Put some kinda smiley or something so its clear that this is not to be taken seriously

try to not go with something like "Hi", "Hey", "Hello", "good evening"

I didn't want to open with a Hi or Hey, or Hello, cause I read that it's better to use something like how's it going cause it creates the idea that we already know each other. Maybe "How's it going (Her name), ____ told me....."? Thanks I will look around for the direct info.

You could also go with something like:
" Hey ____ told me to look at the girl in you profile picture. She's pretty cute. Do you think you could find out if she's available for drinks friday? And don't tell her I asked!"

Update: I went with this

"Hey, ____ told me to check out the girl in your profile picture and I must admit, she is pretty cute. Do you think that you could see if she's up for drinks sometime? Just don't tell her I asked ok?"

Within 5 mins of sending that I got this response, along with a friend request

"I left her a message for you - she would've answered but she was busy hunting down someone named "me" on Facebook...... ;)"

Thinking about replying with something like "Woa there, I don't go adding just anyone to my list of friends. Maybe if you tell me a little bit about you, we'll see if you make the grade..."

I'm pretty surprised at the quick response to the message I sent, but she didn't comment on getting drinks...hmm, any thoughts?

Hey guys, tried this out the other day and it worked a treat. Shes got to be a HB9 easy, friends with a mate of mine. I asked him to invite her to party im having on news years, he did so and got my name in there. So i sent her a PM saying exactly what you put, but mentioned the party instead of the drinks!!

she loved it, replied with "LOL! thanks haha. ummmm i think shes going out in watford though, not 100% sure but i think thats whats happening. x "

so feeling i need to go for it now, try getting some social proof out of her, was going to reply with "well probably a good thing, as i really dont know anything about her!! she's just a name at the minute, but if she were to tell me a little bit more about herself then we could change that and mayb..... just mayb i'll send her a formal "facebook" invite to the party shes seriously consdering missing out on?!?"

My question is...does this sound ok or should i write something else? should i still refer to her as the other person or start saying you instead?
